OK, I haven't been here in awhile and I'm totally confused on most of what's going on, but 4bb, I'd stay out of the situation with your employee and friend and the Brazilian guy...nothing good is going to happen, and what you really don't want is for them all to turn on you.

It's certainly against the LOT order of protocol. Again I am disturbed by the lack of subservience, a clear breach of the rules laid out in our Charter. We may have to bring in the Ladies of Discipline to restore order here.

Dearest LOT,

Apparently I have overstepped my boundary in an effort to engage in a salacious, yet fun banter. Some of the high ranking officers in the LOT organization have suggested that I am a "naughty bad boy". Even one of my own has turned his back on me. I apologize to ALL. Even though that deep down inside, I will not change, for argument's sake, let's say that I will henceforth be a good little subserviant, proud loin cloth wearing cabanna boy. I will only speak when spoken to and promise not to oggle as you walk freely along the Lido Deck.

Oh now, now. What's a little back labor talk amongst friends? ;)

My first was back labor-boy that was fun!

My husband would read the monitor for contractions and there is a lag between when they are recorded and when you feel them, so instead of using it as a tool to help me with the breathing they teach (which didn't help me anyway) he would exclaim-"Wow, here comes a big one", which certainly didn't help-I got a head start on freaking out.

He also complained about the meal he was fed and needed to take Tylenol during MY ordeal.

That was one long day. By the time I heard the doctor call for forceps because my son really didn't want to join the cold, cruel world, I wouldn't have cared if he had called for dynamite to get the kid out.

Thank the dear Lord he's been a much better husband and father than a labor coach.:D

OK girls, what is the easiest recipe crock pot cookbook out there-and I mean MINIMAL prep.

Yikes!

I had back labor with my daughter. It was terrible. And on top of that, she went into distress and they had to do an emrgency C-section. That was the scariest day of my life!

As for recipes, I have so many cookbooks I rarely use anymore. It's so easy to find great recipes online now. So I print em out and the ones I like, go into a folder. If they aren't great, into the trash!

Aww man...I always feel terrible for you poor ladies that go through excrutiating labor only to have to have a C-section after all. Couldn't they have just spared you the agony? Actually, I think of labor as something that we should be proud to go through and survive, and actually do it all over again:eek: ;)

It was the worst...17 hours of labor and then they had to take her that way!
They gave me demerol, thank goodness, because I was so exhausted and in pain from the back labor, I don't know how much longer I could have lasted.

My son, otoh, was 3 hours of labor and out he came (luckily I was able to deliver him naturally!) No drugs needed that time!

My first one took two days--ten days late so they had to induce, which didn't take the first time and then when it did they ended up having to vacuum her out (to avoid the emergency C section,) which caused a lot of tearing, which led to a very painful abscess, and I think I'll stop now.

The best part - I'm in labor and the husband is agonizing over a sliver in his foot. Wrong thing to do with my friend as the delivery doc. She tells everyone what a freaking wimp he was about a sliver while his wife was in labor for hours. 6' 3", 218 lb. man wimpering about a sliver. :(

Oh, and he fell asleep while watching the game. She snapped a pic of him snoozing in the chair. We never let him forget. ;)

Broke your water? They did that with me the first time to move things along. Totally grossed out my ex-husband.

After 14 hours in the hospital, I forbade anyone but my doctor to check my dilation. I swear, I had a swarm of residents in their up to their elbows one time too many.

Very cool that you used a midwife. I would have gone that route as well but I had a great ob/gyn that I had a wonderful relationship with.

Did you have your son at home or in the hospital?
They broke my water too, which did nothing either. I was talking about something else that landed me in the bathroom for a very long time!

I had my son in the hospital because I was going the VBAC route and wanted to be on the safe side.

Drugs all the way! 36 hours hard labor, with 3 hours of pushing with my first, and then 10 hrs of induced labor with the second, followed by a c-section. Thank God for whoever invented the epidural! Demerol works wonders too.

They gave me an epidural when the pain got so bad and the demerol was no longer helping. Then when they finally told me to push, I couldn't. That's when the baby went into distress and they had to do the section.

No drugs, but a mild epidural with my first.

Second, nothing. I got to the hospital at 9, and had her at 9:45. Even if I wanted them, there wasn't time. Second time was much nicer.

After my first, I feel like I woke up on another planet. From which I haven't ever returned.

My second baby, his heart rate kept dropping and they could not figure out why. He had turned kind of sideways instead of face down and the cord wrapped around his neck. Worst time of my life, ever.

Great story from one of my ob/gyn friends this morning. She's taking part of someone's cervix or uterus out (can't remember which) but the woman had both nipples pierced and a clitoral piercing. She refused to take them out because she didn't think she could put them back in. My friend was afraid of electrocuting her because the instrument was metal. The woman had to sign a waiver saying she risked being burned/electrocuted. Luckily she wasn't. This is the kind of sh!t we talk about when we run! :P

Probably not. I've only had it since the end of October though. It healed enough to change after a month, but I have only changed it once.
I just hope nothing from the facial gets in the hole and irritates it.

My daughter wants her nose pierced now too. I said absolutely no to the tongue but don't really have a problem with the nose (obviously!)

My daughter already has her bellybutton pierced. It was for her 13th or 14th birthday. I can't remember.

My stepson has his tongue pierced. I don't like it. He talks normal now, but in the beginning, it did make him talk funny.
I asked the doctor about it and he said that's one he agrees with me on...no.
The dentist isn't fond of them either. He has seen too many broken teeth from tongue piercings. I didn't spend thousands on braces for her to break her teeth!

Yay for your hubby. What is he getting and where?
My hubby has 11 of them. All but 2 he had before I met him and they're the old style. The ink is all faded and most of them are ugly. But he was young.

Kid number two arrived in 2 1/2 hours start to finish, so I guess I was getting a little karmic payback. the recovery was oh so much faster with him, but then he was a little Sh*t and had colic and reflux and made his first three months on earth a living hell. He's a sweetie now, though. And my daughter, who was the easiest baby in teh world, is now a living scourge.

Oh, and I had an epidural both times and they were fabulous.

And I only have pierced ears. I would have considered a tummy piercing when I was a yout, but now it would be hidden by the excess waistage, shall we say.

My husband is getting a rugby ball with 3 initials of the teams he's played on and something else on it - maybe the years he's played? I don't remember. He's been playing for something like 27 years! And he still plays, the nut.

A few of the girls that my daughter hangs out with have some facial piercings, and a bunch of the girls in that group therapy that she used to belong to had them. Unfortunately, it's very popular here too.

If I were doing the hiring, though, if I had to choose between one with barbells on his/her face and one without, I'd choose the one without.

There are clear plastic retainers they can put in the piercings that are barely visible and keeps the hole from closing. If I were looking for a job and thought my nose piercing might cause an employer to judge me, I would wear a retainer.

See, I think the eyebrow looks better than any of the other facial piercings. I couldn't do any of them, number one, I work in a relatively conservative office, one of the girls here has a pierced tongue, but that's about it, and more importantly, I'm a big wimp. But I think the eyebrow looks good. The only thing I think of when I see a pierced nose is that having a cold would be a horror, and I don't really like the lip or tongue.

I do want a tattoo - actually I want 3 different ones, but we'll see, I haven't gotten to 1 yet!

Does anyone else notice a strange skewing of the application of "CS" around these parts. In some threads there are pages upon pages of hate-laced statements about player's and managers' (and front office personnel) intelligence, integrity, general characters, do they beat their wives, are they head cases, are they money grabbing animals, injury fakers, showboats, posers, poor sports, bad teammates, cancer in the lockeroom, choker, etc., and rarely does any action gets taken.

But, should someone be so foolish as to mention a player's looks or social life, and bam, thread closed, and you are on very thin ice???

It really strikes me as very odd.

I agree that it's skewed. It took months for a famous poster to get banned from here after all of his thinly veiled personal attacks on people's intelligence, yet don't mention who Derek Jeter is dating or you're going to get in trouble.

But hey, it's their site to run how they want. Hell, if it were mine, I'd ban people for general stupidity. I can think of 20 right off the bat.

It was up earlier today, but it appears to have disappeared. If you want to see the pix, go to nypost.com and click on celeb pix. You won't be able to miss Jessica's ummm assets ;).

Thanks but I'm interested in Jeter's assets. ;) j/k :)

I think they don't want any talk of personal lives or anything that could border on salacious. That's one aspect of the CS; the other is the discussion of players, managers, performances, etc. and for that I'd bet there's a more lax version of CS.

As Trishie said, it's Jim's site and I have no problem with it :)

I was nice Hildy! Plus 2 of the people I drove up there with are Sox fans so I was well behaved. :goody:

This place on Rt 20 was pretty nice. It was called the Ugly Ducking Loft but also had a sign in front that read.....The Whistling Swan. It reminded me of some of the rustic bars at the ski slopes in Vermont - some guy was singing and playing the guitar.

It was nice to see my friend but she's working a ton of hours at 2 local hospitals and all her deliveries are in Boston (a 3rd hospital).
