Why are you taking him out Leyland?

Let him get out Arod.

Detroit is really kicking the hell out of us in every conceivable way.

Last year I went into a drunken rage and got banned, this year I am amazingly calm.
I think having such a lefty heavy lineup finally caught up to us.

On another note, why are The Tigers using Zumaya in a 6 blowout after he pitched 2 innings yesterday?

Dumb move......happy about it, but dumb

knickfan23
10-06-06, 09:53 PM
At least THAT'S not going to happen. :P

I'd be happy just to see Alex get a HIT here, even if it's meaningless. Anything to get him going. We'll need him, tomorrow and hopefully Sunday!

Its not happening here.

Not against Zumaya. I've got 20 bucks saying Alex goes down looking right here. It may not look pretty.

Really hard to work counts and be patient when all the Tigers pitchers are throwing strikes. This team feasts off of working pitchers and exploiting hitters counts. You are not gonna see those type of pitchers in the playoffs

We have chased so many pitches outside the zone tonight....its ridiculous

i almost just totally give up on this team. they simply can not win. we will never be able to "buy" all the best pitching and we seem to excell at buying overpaid sluggers who can't hit in the post-season. its boring to watch, its degrading as a fan and it is totally an utter waste of time as its like being a fan of losing with all the cards in your deck stacked. its not honorable and its not fun.

Really hard to work counts and be patient when all the Tigers pitchers are throwing strikes. This team feasts off of working pitchers and exploiting hitters counts. You are not gonna see those type of pitchers in the playoffs

Of course that makes it harder but its still not impossible to draw walks, look at what Bernie swung at for example or what A-Rod swung at in the first inning.

We drew walks even against good pitchers in the regular season.

The approach is different, its a nervous and scared one IMO.

Alex should have charged the mound. I'd have liked that. It could have brought a little fire to the Yanks. What a missed opportunity. I dont care that it was a misplaced slider. Go out there and twist Zumayas arm.

Two thoughts:

- Rogers' jumping and celebrating after every out from the 6th on would not play well with me if I were a Yankee

- After Zumaya threw over A-Rod's head, I think a visit to the mound by Mr. Rodriguez would have done the Yanks two favors by a) getting him out of the game and b) getting Zumaya out of there. I'm only half kidding

Unless something drastic happens in the next two games this could be it for A-Rod here, he has now what 2 hits during 8 games these last two ALDSīs.
Giambi has not been so great either but this year I can give him a pass cause of his wrist, Sheffield I can also give a pass because of his injury this year.

ESPN sure loves bringing the fact that game 3 winners go on to win the series 25 out of 33 times.

I think they have done it 20 times now.

I'd be a lot more interested in knowing how game 3 winners in series that were tied 1-1 did. I'm sure it's a ton closer.

Cano had a huge hit last season in Anaheim with the bases juiced. I think he deserves a pass due to his age, experience, and amount the team counts on him. If he hits .340 again next year and has a poor October, fine- go after him. But I'm cool with Robbie right now.
