No. They just didnt want to take the chance of rain and having the game start and stop tonight, so they put the kid in there and saved Wang for tomorrow night.
Besides, there 12 up on the Sawx, why would Joe save Wang just for them? Its not like they matter anymore.

It actually seems like Joe tried to make as few changes as possible (hitting Bernie 1st instead of moving Jeter up a spot, and it seems like he just put Cano where Abreu usually is and left everyone else pretty much where they should be.)

That's what is sort of puzzling. He didn't change much except for Cano, who is the one guy I wouldn't change. If he wants a lefty up in that spot, put Giambi there. Maybe let Cano bat 5th, but I just don't like him hitting third.

Bernie is the easiest guy to shift around.. Melky moves around a fair bit. Cano.. he's been pretty static, but I'm sure he'll manage. He is a 3/4 "type" hitter on a lesser team.

I actually can't help but think that Kaat might be right based on how ludicrous some of the reported comments were. I just can't imagine anyone saying some of those things. :lol: I don't think that he was misinterpreted, but I think that he probably mis-spoke on some things (such as saying that it doesn't matter what you do for your team when you're determining the MVP. I mean how could anyone say that and not have messed up? That's basically what the MVP award is. :lol: )

Like I said, I think that the main points are intact, and that he meant it the way it's being interpreted, but I think he mis-spoke in a few instances. It wouldn't make it any better what he said, just a bit less dumb, perhaps.
