Mad Dog was right. ;)
Yes, he was. Lidle has never been a good pitcher. He's basically a fifth starter on most teams. He doesn't throw hard, and when he doesn't hit corners and has to throw over the plate, he gets drilled. He's basically Mike Mussina with no velocity and less control.

Yeah, but even the worst players in MLB are pretty damn talented. And being able to pitch is a hell of a lot different than just being 7 feet tall, so I don't know if the NBA analogy works here. Let's face it, if Manute Bol was even 6 inches shorter, he never would have played pro basketball because he had no skills. Even scrub players in MLB have some skill.

I think that when people say Player A sucks, they're not actually saying he sucks. At least I don't think so. They're saying he is not good compared to his peers, other professional baseball players. Even guys like Bubba Crosby and Tony Womack are better than 99% of the people in the world at playing baseball. They're just not better than a good portion of that other 1%.

Not totally, because there is a scarcity of big men who are any good in basketball today as compared to many years ago. In MLB, there is a scarcity of pitchers who are good, thats why everyone is always looking for it. You can always find a guard or a forward in basketball, much like you can find a hitter. Its the lack of available good ones out there.

That's true. I once saw a statistic that said like 20% of 7'3" people play in the NBA, 10% of 7'2 people, 5% of 7'1, and it went way way down with every inch. Not really related, but I thought it was interesting when I saw it.

Yeah, Bogues was 5'3" and Webb was 5'6". I don't think Bogues could dunk, but it was awesome watching Webb do it. I remember when he won the slam dunk contest -- it was like the dude was flying.

Actually, I know they do. They go way too quickly for my liking. Last night I was pondering how I could possibly have a sister who is 31 and has 3 kids, and how on earth it was possible that I graduated high school nearly 8 1/2 years ago. It seems like we were the kids just a couple years ago!! :(

His K-Rate is okay. It's not too good, but it's not bad. It's about average. I'm not sure if he'll keep it up. I think he'll be pretty good in the future, though, if not really good.
