So why cant Bruney finish the game? :o
Likely becuz Proctor needs some work. Perhaps that's Joe's line of thinking. :o :(

You're lucky there's no mod here. That's not allowed...and is just plain ridiculous.
So we signed Dotel for 1 year and let him use the facilities and doctors to rehab for...... nothing?

Because we don't want to see our primary arms in the pen being burned out before the playoffs even begin.

That sounds about right.
Pitching a key reliever once every three days is NOT a thing to get worked up about. Jeez....his arm is fine right now, and NOT pitching him for a while tocould be worse than throwing him every few days for an inning.
Before people get extremely worked up about simply using guys, look at the actual appearances since they've had a comfortable lead. Torre hasn't used one pitcher too much.
Can we get out the hitting machine that is Ramon Hernandez?

A bit strong of a word to use for a baseball manager who's guilty of bullpen mismanagement don't you think?

Popped up! 2 down! One more, Yankees! :gulp:
Also, with a 10 game lead, the Yanks are not going to use guys as strictly by the run count as simply when Joe wants to use them.
Dotel is warming for the sole reason he doesn't want to use Proctor for too many pitches.

Sorry about that
I will announce now that I absolutely am not coming into any game threads if people are complaining about using relief pitchers on two days rest.
Complain all you want about how he used Proctor for a month and Villone for two weeks.....and it may very well have a current effect on Villone (though, if you think about it, SOMEONE was getting overrused in that stretch with the starters stinking and the team scoring runs to keep those games close- might as well be the #4 reliever).
But he's been absolutely fine since the lead became very comfortable.

He burnt Villione out, Proctor's next. You don't use your best relievers in a 5 run game, especially when the roster expanded and he has a ton of pitchers to use.
