Actually, I still need to call him! Yesterday my folks moved to a new house, from the house in which I lived almost my entire life. I have yet to see their new house, but it seems so weird to me that they won't be at the house where they've lived for 35 years, and where I lived for the first 24 years of my life! :lol:

Today is my dad's 58th birthday. That's really scary for me, because his dad died of a massive heart attack at age 58 (almost 59), when my daddy was only 17. :eek: :(
However, his dad also was a lifelong smoker (back when cigarettes were completely unfiltered and even worse for you than they are now) and an alcoholic until the last few years of his life. Thankfully, my dad doesn't drink or smoke. He has hypertension and a history of high cholesterol (takes meds for both), and recently found out that he is a diabetic, but he takes very good care of himself and has cut out almost all sugar and eats very healthy. He lifted weights for many years and stayed in pretty good shape throughout his adult life, though, and I'm praying for many more good years for him! :)
One less in the magic #--at least.

Don't get me wrong. I'd love to have a mansion in the desert. It looks so peaceful. Plus I prefer the heat over cold.
When it's hot and you have to be outside, you can't take off enough to get cool. When it's cold, you can always pile on more clothes/blankets.
