We need a lead early tonite, virtually no chance they play tomorrow.

I heard that Jeter offered each pitcher $10,000 for each time they get Joe Mauer out and they have to give him $10,000 each time he gets a hit. So far Lidle is up $10,000. Not bad.
And just like that Jeter inches closer...however there is no way that this game ever finishes so it probably doesn't matter.

My best friend is battling lymphoma. They weren't optimistic at first but things are going really well for him. He'll finish up his last round of chemo around Christmastime and I can't think of better Christmas present than a full recovery to good health for him.

My best friend is battling lymphoma. They weren't optimistic at first but things are going really well for him. He'll finish up his last round of chemo around Christmastime and I can't think of better Christmas present than a full recovery to good health for him.
I hope he's ok Muggsy. It's very scary. I work for the Bone Marrow Program and the stories are so darn sad.
We did have a close friend that has lymphoma, had chemo and is now 10 years post and doing very well. I hope the same for your friend.

If he is indeed back, they should be worried, with Matsui and Sheffield (I'm hopeful) on the verge of returning.

I don't know if one HR means that he's back, but let's hope so.
it wasnt just that it was a homer. it was that he went up there with confidence and just hammered the first pitch he saw. 3 days ago alex doesnt do that.

Hideki Matsui took 32 swings on the field in BP and hit six homers. At least that's what my buddies in the Japanese press corps told me. I did watch his last round and Matsui jacked one ball into the upper deck in right field. He said afterward he felt ready to play in a game. It's possible he will be assigned to Class AA Trenton in the next two days. He looked very smooth and strong.
