I like moving Alex into the 2 hole, hopefully take some pressure off him, that's a good idea by Joe, let's see if it works.
I'm not crazy about today's lineup, but what the hell... we need to try something different ...btw I think the argument over the pitchers used in the 9th can go on endlessly, what I find horrifying is that Joe thought Green was a good candidiate to steal a base....

Great players should never be affected by where they hit in a batting order. Essentially what Torre is saying is that Jeter has a better chance to drive in runs than Alex does. Personally, I dont agree with that logic.
Also, batting him second essentially makes him a non factor in the first inning of these games if Damon makes out. He basically will be batting with no one on base and thus lessening the type of impact he can have early in a game because Damon, Jeter and Abreu are on base machines.

I know what you're saying, the only thing I can say is that I hope it will change his approach. Just start getting some hits and the confidence will come and the pitcher's approach will change and then the HRs come.

He's got pretty good numbers against us in 17 innings 2.65 ERA .234 BAA. FWIW, he's even better against Oakland.

I actually like the idea of moving A-Rod up to the 2 hole, at least for the time being. It might get him in the mindset of making contact and hitting behind runners instead of trying to pull everything over the left field wall. Didn't pan out in his first AB, but I like the thought.

Surely that question has been asked of Alex, but for whatever reason, he has been stubborn to break that habit.
Mick, this was the scenario I played out at the start. Damon makes out. Alex comes up with no one on base and his approach is stil the same as if he was batting 4th. Talk about guessing, Alex appears to be the last person you want to have with at the casino because you may go broke.

I hate the idea against any team with real lefties in the bullpen, as Abreu, Giambi and Cano are all together now at 4/5/6. it's OK for today, though.

Alright. Nice to scratch a run out that inning. May have gotten the benefit of a close call at second, but credit Abreu for busting it out of the box. Cano did his job as well by getting the ball deep.
Yeah, I'd definitely agree w/Sterling that Abreu manufactured that run.

Kendrick is gonna be real good... he already is.
MLB has gotten very efficient at stopping stations from doing that, unfortunately...
They are the best at stopping New York stations, it seems they pay the most attention to the Yankees, but I can almost always find a feed from our opponents.

I wonder if MLB sold the pay per view, by the team, which team would be the most popular? If they offered an option for only one team for like $99.00 a year, and the full package for like $179, which team would generate the most revenue for MLB TV?
