This game kind of reminds me of that first game after the ASB last year. Moose got off to a rough start, and then settled down. Of course the Yankees won that game by an A-Rod homer off Schilling as closer...I wouldn't mind beating Papelbon into the ground today.

By the way....what clubs often do (though it's tougher in Fenway) during a delay is to have their pitchers simulate innings. They will throw at 50% every 20 minutes or so.....for each "simulation", the team will lop an inning off his expected game that night. Not sure if either did this tonight, though I know the White Sox did it twice last year.

Ditto that. My Red Sox fan friend was saying at the time of the trade that Bobby was overrated and wouldn't do much at all. I sent her an evil e-mail the other night, that basically said, "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!" :D
Yeah...there was a lot of that going around, including from some in the national media (even though most of the press was favorable)..like Colin Cowherd on ESPN radio...Abrau is declining, Abreu is a clubhouse cancer, blah, blah, blah..... I wonder if any of them will admit they were wrong?

That was a positive inning, but Cano swinging at the first pitch was horrible. Mattingly should tell him that he should go up to the plate looking for a particular pitch, and if he gets it, swing away. Otherwise, take it and make the pitcher work. He swung at ball 1 there.

Of course they won't. When I sent the e-mail to her, rubbing it in her face (the night we crushed them in the doubleheader), she wrote back and said, "And Yankees fans wonder why they're so hated..." Whatever. :gulp:
