I think we have to go with Dotel or Proctor (16 pitches) for a 2nd inning. We cant bring rivera in in the 8th if we are losing.
There is a 9th inning, Papelbon is at 22 pitches. But its Melky, Green (I'm assuming Bernie will ph) and Damon. Not really a big HR threat. Were gonna have to string together some baserunners.

That was awful. You have to capitalize on that situation. All Cano needed was a medium-deep fly ball.
Even though Papelbon just threw the equivalent of two normal innings for him, because he'll be facing the bottom of the order with a clean slate, this game is probably over.
There's still a chance, but it's definitely not as good a chance as they just had. You can't blow chances like that and expect to win the game.

this would ideally be a great spot for dotel to save Proctor's arm... but Dotel's too rusty.. too prone to quickly getting in trouble... no easy answers pitching wise ... even if we tie it.. unless we take the lead.

And yet...we will WIN.:) Are you getting off the train?...
The train is still runnning and on track!
This team and RISP.... uggh.
Hey, it's going to happen. You can't score 6 or 7 runs every game. If Moose didn't stink up the joint tonight we may have a had a chance at winning this game. Oh well, their is always tomorrow.

Have you watched the last 3 games? It happens sometimes. The Sox were 0-17 with RISP in the first game...

I was watching in my living room with my gf and she put it perfectly...
That was embarrassing.

I can't blame A-rod for taking the walk, but I wish he could just have hit a fly ball...
If that is referenced at me..I dont blame him for the walk. I blame Pap for not throwing a strike because Cano always tries to do too much with bases loaded or Risp.

Of course I'm not, Gring! I didn't say we wouldn't win, only that we didn't deserve it. ;)

I'm going to tell myself that this will just make it sweeter when we tee off on Papelblown.

Ok Melky can do it
There's still a ninth inning. Hold them here. Sterling and Waldman can go to hell. Why, what'd they do?
So I am playing a franchise on MLB2k5 (been paused for hours now) and according to the sim Moose is going to close out the WS this year against the Mets in game 6 in the stadium.

Extremely lucky curve there for Proctor. 1 down.

What are they saying? I listen to them practically every game (except on rare occasions like tonight that I get TV) and I never hear them being excessively negative or utter-garbage-like. Not even close.
I agree and I'm listening to them right now. Sam just hears them differently for some reason, which is his prerogative.

1 down.
A friggin' fly ball . . .
Easier said then done. We are also facing one of the best closers in the game.

Top of the order up for the Sox.
Bright side, if we lose this one ... Mo will be fresh for tomorrow.

Posada seems to come up small in big spots quite often.
That's why those who hit 3 out of 10 go to the hall of fame...your Yankee pride is contagious

I used to listen to them all the time but stopped ever since I got YES like 2 months ago, and it seems they've REALLY changed. Sterling sounds like he sounded during May 2003 and Waldman is just in the back throwing in shots.

Well That was a frustrating inning. Hopefully we can get something started immediately in the 9th.

Great. In 1990, I won the Tecmo Super Bowl with the Miami Dolphins. Dan Marino threw like 5,000 yards that season.

Mo is always fresh.
Proctor and Villone aren't always fresh.
And they won't be tomorrow.
i love how if we get out of this inning, that Ortiz and Manny will be up, AS USUAL, against rivera in the 9th.

I hate to credit Schilling and Papelbon but they got the outs 2nite. I'm not upset with any Yankees (even Cano because the first pitch from Papelbon should've been called a ball).
I hope Melky can battle Pappelbon and wear him down for Bernie and Johnny.
