Van Buren with a 1-2-3 inning. Yanks can't rest on their laurels here. RJ needs to get through this inning cleanly. If he loses someone, does Myers pitch to Ortiz?

Every team has bad innings and we have only had two so far.
Cannot complain about that.
The key is to not let the Sox regain contact, Randy must dig down deep and give us another zero.

Interesting that both announcers commented on RJ's run support this year, but failed to note its complete lack in recent history when he pitched for AZ. If these guys are going to take up national broadcast time, I wish they'd spend more time researching/discussing the teams they are covering ... heck, even remembering recent facts.

A friend of mine's pit bull likes pizza. I don't eat pork, but I had some extra pepperoni and sausage put onto it, since dogs love meat.
She also doesn't like other female dogs (we have to control her, since she detects them immediately). Since she grew up w/cats, she likes cat food. I have to hide my food if I'm passing by her.

Why is the lack of run support in Arizona relevant? I think the point is that he's getting wins this year despite not being very good. And it's true.

Beantowners love eliminating stuff negative to them. In one instance, it was Nomah's 5 errors in the '99 ALCS. Someone posted it, they had it deleted on a Beantown board.
Must be something from eliminating reference to past failures, so all they see is the future.

So.. despite a bad wobble and some total character assasination in this GT, RJ did what he was asked to do today... no he's not and never will be again the dominant 'lights out' RJ we paid for, but that's the risk at his age... but he didn't crumble and regained his composure...he's not a joke, he's not useless, he's just not a #1 Ace anymore...

This series is painful and both teams look like they need a nap. Too bad the Yankees have Seattle next and not the Angels. The Angels own the Yankees anyway and I wouldn't mind just waving the white flag there.
RJ gave us the 7 ugliest innings possible, but they were still 7 innings. He was still walking people (which I hated), but he was also pitching to a decent amount of contact -- at least compared to Beckett.

It's just a hypothetical. Proctor pitches today, but never again after his arm falls off, or we lose today because Torre refuses to sacrifice Proctor's career for a few more outs. Which do you choose?
I choose ignoring you. Bye.

We've still got a Sunday and Monday game. If we can avoid Mo, I'll take it.
Don't know about that -- I'd love to just lock this one down. You never know when Mo is going to be needed anyway. And our other decent relievers are gassed.

It's not fair, them bringing up a rookie pitcher we haven't seen before! We can't touch him!

Jeez, I'm not complaining. I'm thrilled with the way this game has gone. I'm not a bridge jumper. I just think it would be shortsighted to use Proctor today, no matter the situation. He's too important for the stretch run. Maybe Torre has no intention of doing it. It's not a complaint. It's a rational observation.
Boom goes Cano. See, now there's no need even to consider Proctor, thank God.
