Jeff Nelson, that's all I have to say.
and Juan Encarnacion hit a bomb into the left field bleachers against Ramiro Mendoza which still stands as the longest home run that I have ever personally witnessed.

I remember that HR....only guy that I've seen thats reached the LF bleachers on the fly.
ARod's HR against Texas last year was maybe even longer, over that back green wall by the ambulances. I remember Buhner hitting one back there once in the early 90's off Wade Taylor.

Much like Ron Villone and Scott Proctor, I had to stretch out the Tivo tonight. I usually only record games for 4 and 1/2 hours at the most (including postgame). We havent gotten to the end of the game and I still have the postgame to follow this stuff tonight.

Yes. Someone sent me a link the other day to a clip of Dennis Leary in the Red Sox booth. Remy told him that Youkilis was Jewish and Leary started into a "MEL GIBSON, EAT YOUR HEART OUT" routine when Youkilis made several nice plays in the inning. That's what he was referring to, I'm sure.

I do think the right thing to do is either not renew Sheff's option, or do so and deal him like they've talked about. And make Matsui the DH. Melky simply and absolutely needs to play every day. Cheap young talent like that....just too much not to play.

Something I havent seen mentioned yet is that its kind of a good thing this game has been so long. Its keeping the donation lines open longer for the Jimmy Fund. They just showed that their total is up over 2.7 million. Great news
