Actually it does matter a little. If the Loretta sees that Cano is bustin it, you cause him to make a faster throw and possibly a bad throw. Cano is still too new to be laggin ass on a grounder.

Sorry, but a team that's supposed to score 1000 runs should never go into a prolonged slump against scrub pitchers.

He just crushes Wang. Very interested to see what the Sox gave up. Just a crazy move by Ricciardi unless he got something of value in return. Hinske not making a ton of money after the Jays agreed to pay half of his salary next year. And if the Jays are worried about $, they had a strange way of showing it last offseason.

Which proves that pitch counts for the most part are overrated. I would have traded 20 less pitches for 3 more runs. If you told the Red Sox that Johnson would go 5 innings and give up 1 or 2 runs, that would have been ecstactic. And as it stands, he is one inning away from doing just that.

Agreed. Wang hasnt been very sharp, but he has battled....our pitching in general has been fine lately (yesterday being an exception). Our offense is the problem.

Bottom of the 5th is going to be critical for Wang, with Loretta, Papi, and Ramirez batting. If he can get through that unscathed with relatively few pitches, we may be in decent shape!

Thanks. I would have pulled the infield in there, not that it would have mattered. I hate conceding runs with just a single runner at 3B and 1 out (and a weak hitter at the plate).

whats worse is that you know the pitcher is bad when the announcers arent even giving him credit. like usually some 7 era pitcher shuts us down and the announcers glow over him and talk about how great he was. kaat, lieter and kay are telling you this guy is hanging pitches and the yanks arent hitting him.

We're definetely letting the kid off the hook a little bit. He's not pitching this well, it's that we're not hitting well at all. The pitches are hittable, they're being fouled off and taken for strikes.

The offense has been unacceptable over the past three games. Loewen, Lopez, and now Jason Johnson are totally schooling them. It almost doesn't matter who pitches. They are getting themselves out.
