High PC is nice but let's remind the team the object is to score runs, not raise the PC!

62 pitches through three is obviously a poor pitch count. Yanks just need to put another two or three up over the next few and they'll accomplish two things- winning, bullpen in early.

I'm hearing that Kid Theo coveted Coco Crispy. With his noodle weaker-than-Damon's arm, a hit to CF would score Posada from 2B. Not necessarily Giambi from 2B, but at least Posada. :P

Giambi and his pedestrian average (and yes, I know his OBP is high) needs to be batting 5th. Plus, A-Rod gets worse when runners are on, so maybe the strategy of putting the high OBP guys ahead of him is counterproductive.

It's hard to figure the Yankees offense right now. You subtract Andy Phillips and add Bobby Abreu and yet the team is scoring fewer runs now than they did before the moves were made. The Yankees have averaged 4.8 runs per game in August. Through July 31 they averaged 5.6. What's even stranger about this is that the Yankees are hitting very well. Through Wednesday they were hitting .287/.361/.500 during the month, which is like having a whole team of Tino Martinezes, and in a good year too. Remember, the league as a whole is hitting .275/.340/.437.
As always, when something doesn't make a whole lot of sense, chances are that it won't last.

What are we hitting with RISP as a team this month?

Everyone knows how bad Wang is from the stretch so why is it that in this situation, where no one can steal a base except for home, why doesnt he just go back to his regular delivery???
Now the bases are loaded and he shouldnt be pitching from the stretch!!!!!!!!

I believe they did. TJ Beam was called up from what I heard.

Yes it does.
Well, officially... but I'd imagine a manager would take those lightly-thrown pitches into account when deciding whether to yank a starter...

Doesn't look like Wang has control of his sinker today... or he isn't very comfortable with it.
Everyone knows how bad Wang is from the stretch so why is it that in this situation, where no one can steal a base except for home, why doesnt he just go back to his regular delivery???
In fenway, base hits to left are not difficult throws for the LF to make home. If he is in windup, that run is an easy one.

Phew. Wang came up big there. Ump seems to really be squeezing him though and a lot of those down and in pitches seem to be going for strikes with Johnson on the mound but not Wang. Oh well, nice job Wang.

Is that in spite of his 3.77 ERA, or because of it?
My god, you'd think he's getting lit up tonight. His problem is: He's not throwing strikes, that's why he's giving up baserunners.
