Good evening everyone....:) Another gorgeous day here in the northeast.

I have a very small suggestion for those that post the starting line ups (and by the way, it's much appreciated), perhaps you can add the starting pitchers at the bottom of the line ups as well? Just a thought...

edit: I see metalboy already did just that. Thanks

Good to give Johnny and Jorge rest before the five game set, but we really need a better backup CF. Bernie is a good bat off of the bench, but his defense leaves too much to want. And not only that, but we don't even have a decent defensive replacement in CF. I would rather start Melky in CF and have Bernie in LF, have Aaron Giuel in LF and Melky in CF, or have Kevin Thompson in CF, then see Bernie as CF.

Damon can't come off of the bench. He is DHing. If he comes out of the DH to play CF, then we lose the DH and our pitchers have to hit.

The problem is he can't come off the bench. If you want to give Damon a day off and get Bernie in the lineup against the righty, I'd much prefer you just sit Damon and have Giambi DH. That way, if it's close late in the game, you can put Damon in for defense. Plus, Giambi is a better hitter than Damon is and it's not like Giambi needs a day off from being the everyday DH.

Hopefully he'll increase his stats in blowout games today. The most annoying fact A-Rod detractors bring up since his stats will of course be good in blowout games, he's probably the one starting the blowout.

I remember once the Yanks had totally blown a team's pitching apart. Someone then looked at the team's ERA, noticed that it was rather high-ish, so said the Yanks must not have had worthy opponents. Yet who raised their ERA in the first place?

Crazy logic these peeps.

Who knows? Once they play the game, all else goes out the window. A leadoff HR can lead to a pitcher's lack of confidence, and snowballing from there.

My TV went dead yesterday and I was forced to watch it on my PC, thats why I was unable to contribute fully to the game thread. But I am back in business tonight as I bought a new one.

YES feed for DirecTV and MLBTV. They have apparently fixed their graphics issues on MLBTV and the game is coming through there nicely.

I'll have caps tonight. Apparenly I missed the Donna Feldman shots from last night. Damn.

Nettles had a habit of making his throws as hard as the play required. He always just nipped the runner at 1B regardless of how much time he had to make the play.... throwing really was the weakest part of his fielding.
