Mora out for the 'ice'...
well, he hurt his hand and is out of the game, so in a way i guess it was a productive out. :o
Posada hit that ball so hard it broke Mora's thumb.
I wish it had boken his glove instead.

Not great to not get more....but quite frankly, the Yanks didn't blow it. Bedard made several excellent pitches on Cano, Jorge simply hit into bad luck, and Wilson didn't get a hit. The bad AB was Wilson's.....but considering it was two outs and not situational, if he doesn't get a hit it doesn't matter his result.
They are now into the O's pen next inning- for three innings. I wouldn't be overly concerned just yet.

Those types of situational stats can vary widely from year to year.
I'm just not warming up to Craig Wilson.

He's a signifcantly better hitter that's it's not even a conversation.
At least we having the top coming up next inning.
Hopefully Mora is out for the series so he shortens their bench.

I mean, I think he plays a decent first base.... I guess it seems to me that either he hits a HR, or he strikes out. (Or at least it seems like Wilson strikes out a lot. Maybe that's a misconception.)
I would like to see some facial expression from him, though.
I have no idea whether he even LIKES playing baseball, judging from his face.

I'm jumping in late here, but Cano really can't hit LHPs at all. His minor & major league career numbers back that up. Hitting 6th vs Bedard was poor lineup placement by Joe, ideally the yanks could find a platoon partner for Robinson.

We need to find a way to be able to rest some of the guys especially the bullpen arms down the stretch if we want to win the World Series. Fighting to the last day of the season would just take too much out of some of the older guys and the pitchers.

Believe it or not, I'm pretty familiar with how baseball works.

We have done that alot this year. We cant keep expecting their pen to implode. Odds are they will hold a lead at some point against us.
True, but that doesn't make their pitchers any better. The fact is that they aren't a good bullpen, which always gives teams a chance to beat them late.

Look we need to get into Boston with at least a 2 game lead. This isnt about the division, this is about the big picture. We need to find a way to be able to rest some of the guys especially the bullpen arms down the stretch if we want to win the World Series. Fighting to the last day of the season would just take too much out of some of the older guys and the pitchers.

Believe it or not, I'm pretty familiar with how baseball works.
I'm also familiar with what happens to overly negative people in game threads.
So I am going to be banned for stating I am very dissapointed tonight, I think Boston will win, and wanting to be able to not have to fight it out with Boston down the stretch? Sounds fair.

Anyone who has seen the man in a pressure-filled spot would think the Sox haven't done much homework. If they are looking for a better pitcher than Tavarez or Seanez....fine.
