In the wake of the Kay/Jimmy phone call there has been some debate as to the relevence of superstitions. Of course nothing we say or do really effect anything on the field during a game. BUT, I know some of us do some unusual things in order to "effect" the outcome of the game. During the playoffs, if the Yankees won a particular game, I sit in the same spot on the couch or same chair the next game. I wear the Yankee cap. Wear the same clothes. If they lose, everything changes. Seat, clothes, no cap or any different combination of the three. Come on you know you do these things. What do you do to bring the Yankees good luck?:D

I never watch monumental games.

I have to change the channel an even number of times.

If the Yankees are losing the game, I play solitare on my Ipod and have to total 67 cards taken out in three games before the 7th inning.

I listen to alot of games on XM radio in the car, and when the opposition is batting my car cannot be idle.

I can't watch the first inning of an away game on tv.

....

In the past, I used to have to hit 4 wiffle ball homeruns in the old field in my backyard. 2 Had to be lefty, and 2 had to be righty...

I've been through hundreds... I can't remember most of them.

Good one, this almost in my neighbourhood now;).Actually, it's not only even numbers. It's multiples of four.

For example: Yankee game on TV, something good happens to Yankees. If I want to change the channel it has to be so:

YG (good)->something else (bad)->Yankee game (bad)->something else (good)->YG (good).

Okey, since you shared that one I will share one of mine.

Dont laugh now;)

I have for some reason considered number 2 a bad luck number, dont really know why to be honest.

But when I follow a Yankee game online via gameday I can not under any circumstances have the gameday window, the livestream or the game day thread in explorer window number two.
So basically I open up the game thread in explorer window nr 1, I sit there with a blank explorer window at nr 2, and then gameday at nr 3 and the livestream at nr 4.
If I accidently close a window so either of the above falls into the nr 2 spot I basically have to close them all and re-open them.

So why cant you have GD and the GT open at the same time?Almost the same thing as the TV. Two of the same cancels out the good mojo.

I love how we all have ocd! We have a standard rule in my house...if my mother does not watch a game from the start, she's not allowed to watch it all.

See my sig. :)

I close one eye and cluck like a chicken with my back to the TV if a Yankee strikes out an opposing hitter. I take a sip of whatever I'm drinking every time Rivera winds up. If I have to really go the bathroom because of it, I do it right there on the sofa. Also whenever a righty is up facing a righty in a walkoff situation be it a yankee or an opponent on a Tuesday night with a 3/4 moon, I scream out "CHICKY-CHICKY-CHICKY" throughout the at bat.

Seriously though I agree with the Babe.

I never say the score out loud during a game. If someone asks, I just point at the tv. Sometimes I smile.

The volume of my tv has to be an even number.

I can't have MLB.com when the Yankees are pitching.

I have a Babe Ruth statue that must at all times be facing the TV.

I can't have a Baseball bat in my hand when the Yankees hit, basically the opposite of what Torre does with Jeter's bat.

During the playoffs they get worse......

Including the ones I've already mentioned...

I rub the Babe Ruth statue's head right before the first pitch and ask him to help the Yankees.... Yes I ask help from a statue.

I must listen to three songs before the game.... Welcome to the Jungle by Guns and Roses, the song from Rocky when Adrian says "theres one thing i want you to do for me.... win." And I also have to listen to "Talkin' Baseball" -Yankee baseball edition by Terry Cashman. Also after every Yankees playoff win I have to listen to New York New York by Frank Sinatra 3 times.

When I smoked ciggs I would have to chain smoke the entire game. Even if I didnt need a cig I had to chain smoke till the game was over. Thank God I quit smoking.

I'll think of some more.
