Glad to see you have power back... some places like rural NH where I am, unless the entire town goes out it can take easily 24 hours to get fixed...
I also hear parts of Queens have been waiting 4 days to get back the power that Con Ed refused to admit was even out for over 2 days...
Hoping my AM reception remains good tonite...

Good evening my people. Fresh off our win from last night, the Yanks look to increase their winning to.........................TWO!
Channel 667 tonight for those without YES on DirecTV is where you can find the game.
In other action, Detroit trailing 7-0 after 1 inning as Kenny Rogers was unable to get out the 1st. However, it is early and the Tigers are threatening.
I'll have caps tonight as I believe -Tz went on vacation.

I'd like to see Bubba hit a grand slam this inning.
That'd be awesome, since they'd have to bat around first.

Wow. Look at all the people in this Thread.

Well, considering that he outbid... himself for Alex's services, it's the least he could do.
And the classic thing is that it was Hicks' asinine offer to A-Rod that led to that 3-4 year boom in contracts (or was it the offer to Kevin Brown...I don't remember). That increase in going rate was not started by the Yanks.

They were down 7-0 after the 1st inning. Rogers had nothing. But I had a feeling they would come back. I mean, they were facing Paul Byrd.

Absolutely. Every single pitcher on their staff (who has pitched past an A/S break in their careers) has an era much higher in the second half of their career. In some cases- Rogers, Robertston- it is MUCH, MUCH higher.

Maybe, but he would be the first man since Ted Williams to bat .400 if only given the chance... according to what I've read recently.
I don't know that you could have three worse hitters than Phillips/Cairo/Crosby. Sure, Andy has "pop"...but he's not a good hitter, Cairo is a poor htter, and Crosby is a horrific hitter.

Terrible play. Runner on third or second- not a huge difference. Terrible play. I am starting to really not like Andy Phillips as a baseball player.

Settle down Mussina.
And yes, it wouldn't be the worst move in the world for Phillips getting DFA'd and Pena getting called up.
Considering Bernie should DH against lefty pitchers, with Jason playing first....makes the move to Pena over Phillips a no-brainer.
I'm sure Torre loves Phillips "versatility", but the ability to have an average fielding middle or corner infielder and a decent fielding 1B does not offset the fact that the player can't really hit.
The reason many of us complain is because of the fact that both Thompson and Pena are significantly better suited to this team than the current players on the roster taking up their spots.
