That annoying bunt in the first inning ploy by Jeter again.
He's hitting fifty points higher than anyone else, why does he ever bunt?

Actually, maybe a silent vote of confidence from the captain. He says, "I believe in you guys!"

You know, I've been debating the whole bunt early in the game thing and I've come to this conclusion. If the other guys (Sheff and Matz) were in the lineup, than I would have a harder time understanding it. But considering the offensive limitations of the team now, they need to be able to scratch a run here and there and just play that way.

It's funny how baseball makes us all believe in magic...
So I'm listening to the game yesterday (and just thrilled that I've found a station up here I can pull in... glad to hear Suzyn..never thought I'd say that...) and finally done working so it's the 8th and we're back ahead... ok I'll just long in here and lurk.. don't wanna disturb the mojo... maybe not...

Jorge shows how its done!
Giambi's quote was right... he has to drive in the runs. That ball needed to be 2" higher, otherwise we get nothing.
But we have this Jorge atleast

...unless our #5 hits it out. :D
lol .. i was about say that..
but its extremely irritating when all you need to do is a simple thing and you cannot do it... we didnt need a home run.. or even a single... just needed to put the ball in play and we would have got a run back

Of all the guys on the Yankees, I wouldn't mind seeing Jorge be a coach later on.
With his temper, he might put on some Pinella-like shows if he ever became a manager.

Its just that he does not even have an OPS over 900 for the season, that along with his what 20 errors is just not good enough.

This isnt a slump. His OPS is .882 and he is hitting .279. If Pujols had these numbers on July 23rd....everyone would be all over him too.
Its just unacceptable.

The funniest thing about Alex is his "bad" season still finds him top 15 in the AL in Runs, HRs, RBIs, BBs, OBP, and OPS. I have confidence he'll get it fixed soon... maybe a trip to Arlington is what he needs.
Yankees simply have no answer for Catalanotto ... :o
