Good evening my people. As I can see, we all are a glutton for punishment.

No caps tonight since I dont have the game on Extra Innings. Have to use MLBTV with the Rogers Sportsnet HD feed. Volume is muted and Sterling and Waldman cranked up.

-tz (assuming she is here) will have to fill in for the next three days doing caps.

Go Yanks!! Lets get this win.

We have to stop wasting runners on 3rd with less than 2 outs.

That should be free runs-

Not quite free runs. With a guy on third and one out between 1999-2002, MLB teams did not score a run 33.8% of the time. So, over a third of the time, teams don't bring the guy in from third with one out. With a guy on third and zero outs teams don't score 13.6% of the time. So teams score more often than they don't, but it's far from a gimme.

Okey, but I use the term free baskets when describing free throws in basketball as well and I know no one hits 100% of their free throws but the league average is about 70%. So free throws should be "free" baskets and runner on 3rd with less than 2 outs sohuld be "free" runs.

I just think that if something doesn't happen one time out of every three, it's not a given that it should happen. It would be nice if we got guys home from third all of the time, but basically if the guy pops out or flies out shallowly or grounds it back to the pitcher or Ks or does any number of things, the chances of scoring drop dramatically. It's not easy to just go out there and hit a sac fly.

Its too late for that. The time to do that was last month during interleague started. If he does it now, people will look at it as if ARod needs Jeter to defend him rather than Alex being a big boy and fighting his way through this on his own.

Negativity and reactions to it.

Jim set a precident in here last year by revoking GT access for posters who were excessively negative. All but one of those members were permanently banned from GTs.

Excessive negativity, as I interpret it, means constant negative posting. Griping when things go bad, like they did last inning, is not excessive negativity. I do not expect unrealistic positivity either.

As for telling others how they should feel, what they should post, or where they should go. That is a quik ticket out of here.

I strongly suggest that if you have an urge to tell anoth member to "shut up" or what to post, that you leave the GT on your own. Posting remarks like that will have bad consequences.
