In 2003, AL East played the NL Central and we played @ Cincy and Chicago with Houston and STL visiting the stadium

http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/schedule/index.jsp?c_id=nyy&m=6&y=2003

In 2004, AL East played the NL West and we were home vs Colorado and San Diego and away @ Arizona and LA

http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/schedule/index.jsp?c_id=nyy&m=6&y=2004

In 2005, AL East again played the NL Central and we were @ Milwuakee and STL with Pittsburgh and Chicago visiting the stadium.

http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/schedule/index.jsp?c_id=nyy&m=6&y=2005

This year, AL East played NL East with the Yanks visiting Washington and Philly and ATL and FLA coming to the stadium.

http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/schedule/index.jsp?c_id=nyy&m=6&y=2006

Commish Bud said everyone by end of 2006 every team would have played each other at least once.

Anyone remember the "rotation" in 2000-2002? I think SF and Arizona were at the stadium in '02...dont remember where the yankees went out west in '02

Anyone know or have a guess if we are going out west next yr? If NL West then based on the home/away rotation, LA would be at the stadium and the yanks visiting SF

This doesn't answer the question, but does give some info.

Anyone else out there, know anything? I took a road trip 2 weeks ago to Philly to see the Yanks and had a blast. Would love to know my options for next year. Never too early to plan.

Thanks.

I think they were at San Diego and I know they were at Colorado--they scored a ridiculous number of runs in Coors Field.

This is the best answer I can give you.

In 02, the Yanks played San Fran at Yankee Stadium, but did not play them the second time around in 2004. This leads me to believe the Yanks will play at SBC Park in 2007.

The Yanks didnt play the Dodgers in 02. But they did play them in 04 at Dodger Stadium. That leads me to believe that LA will be in town at Yankee Stadium in 07.

Those two opponents are definites. The other two opponents (they only play 4 NL West teams because they play the Mets 6 times) will be either the Rockies at Coors Field. The Padres at Petco Park. Or, the DBacks at Yankee Stadium. The Yanks have played home and home with all three of these teams.

I'll tell you this....San Francisco is the definite Yanks fan road trip spot for next season. Now, if we can only add Petco Park to the schedule.

Yep never too early......Ive been to Wrigley, Bank One Ballpark, Chavez Ravine, Old Busch stadium, RFK, Citizens Bank Ballpark to see the Yanks in interleague play and looking fwd to next yr's trip

the article says "a tentative schedule must be presented to the players' union by July 1" hopefully some info leaks into the press soon

Yankees vs Marlins in Florida next year for sure.:) Mostly likely mid-June. I'll check with my 'Group Tix' connection tomorrow on scheduled dates.

And if they're doing the So Florida thing...mostly likely they'll be in Atlanta, too.

It seems most likely that we will get a pick of NL West teams, say SF, LA Col. Plus the usual Dog and Pony show with the Mets.

I can do without the whole thing, but I realize that interleague (and subway series, yech!) are here to stay.

Making my way to all the stadiums with 1 caveat (when possible)....being able to see the yankees in all the stadiums i visit.

Having family all around the US is an added bonus since that takes care of room & board...sometimes meals too!

I hope that's true, because then it'd mean Mets-O's at Camden, and I really want to see a game played there. I got to sat in the stadium before an O's-Red Sox game was rained out in 2001.

I can't imagine that's true for next year since MLB seems inclined to rotate who plays who in interleague play and this year the East played the East. Last year the AL East played the NL Central. In 2004, it was the NL West. That would make next year the NL West's turn again. Except this time, the teams the Yankees played on the road that year (LA and AZ) will come to the Stadium and the Yankees will visit the teams they played at home (Rockies and Padres). The one exception to this will be that the Yankees should play the Giants who they missed last time. Assuming MLB does not change the rivalry gimmick in which the Yankees play the Mets twice, the Giants should bump one of the other 4 NL West teams the Yankees faced in 04.

I've been to AT&T when it was PacBell, and saw the Giants and A's. It's one of the nicest of the new ballparks. Really nice.

But you have to get used to the weird food in the concessions. I got a hot dog and wanted sauerkraut, but you could only get the cold sauerkraut on the hot dogs. The hot sauerkraut was for the sausages. And there was some sort of strange relish, neon-colored green, looked like ju-ju-bes. I saw someone walking around with nachos and there were shaved carrots and other veggies all over it. I'm used to East Coast ballpark food, so go there with an adventurous appetite.

I like interleague play just for the reason that you can go to a new ballpark and see your favorite team.

I know Coors Field and Chase Field are nice, but do you want to go there to see a Rockies/Astros or a D-Backs/Dodgers game? I have done both, but my point is it is more fun, and a great excuse to visit a city that is not normally in the rotation.

So as much as people like the tradition and all of that, you have to recognize there is a benefit to the (traveling) fan. Even the flights out at the beginning of an away weekend at a NL park are fun...it seems everyone on the flight is going to the game(s).

I really hope it isn't the NL East again. I love the rotation and seeing the Yanks play in new and exotic parks.

Petco Park is awesome. When we played the Dodgers in LA, the Saturday game was a Fox game at 1PM and then sped down to San Diego to see Padres/Blue Jays at 7. After the game we got to hit TJ so it was a full day and a lot of fun.

The only two situations that have not occured yet with the NL West teams are the Yankees going to PETCO and AT&T. The Dodgers have also not come to Yankee Stadium. The only situations that have not yet occured with the NL Central are the Yankees going to Pittsburgh and Houston and the Reds and Brewers coming to Yankee Stadium (at least not as a National League team anyway). If I had a choice I would say go with the NL West scenario. It would be awesome to see the Dodgers come to Yankee Stadium and the Yankees go play road games in those beautiful stadiums.

Apparently the interleague games (besides the 6 vs. the Mets) are San Francisco, Coloroda, Arizona and Houston (which is a little weird because the Astros are in the NL Central). I have no link as it's what my dad said was in the paper. Of course, he also said that SF & Colorado were at home and Houston/AZ were the road games and that article has the opposite.

Tuesday 6/19 - Thursday 6/21 @ SD (these dates against SD is confirmed on SD's tentative schedule)

Friday 6/22 - 6/24 @ COL Just want to mention that I think Boston's interleague schedule was recently modified. According to this (http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/), the Giants are now going to play in Fenway on the dates shown in your post. Don't know if these changes will have any affect on who and/or where the Yankees' will play next year, however.

The interleague lineup also has been changed, with the Sox now scheduled for visits from the Rockies (June 12-14) and Giants (June 15-17), while making a previously unscheduled visit to Arizona (June 22-24). They also will play home-and-home against the Atlanta Braves.

The three West Coast trips now line up this way: Oakland (June 4-7) and the Los Angeles Dodgers (June 8-10); Arizona (June 22-24) and Seattle (June 25-27), with the trip actually beginning in Atlanta (June 18-20); and Seattle (Aug. 3-5) and Los Angeles Angels (Aug. 6-8), a trip that actually will end in Baltimore.

wow in a blink of an eye the schedule changed. looks like its SF and COL as reported last month.

Since they just got rid of the yanks @ SD game and still have SF and COL on the away interleague schedule I would now guess that its

Friday 6/15 - Sunday 6/17 @ COL (SF plays @ Boston this weekend )

Tuesday 6/19 - Thursday 6/21 @ SF

BUT i cant see why MLB wouldnt want the yanks vs SF on a weekend series assuming bonds is still with SF.

I agree, not only don't the Dodgers come to Yankee Stadium, just as dumb is that Dodgers play 3 at home and 3 on the road vs. the Blue Jays.

According to boston.com
"The interleague lineup also has been changed, with the Sox now scheduled for visits from the Rockies (June 12-14) and Giants (June 15-17)"

so I would think that the yankees will play @ SF June 12-14 and @ COL June 15-17 FWIW, in this story (http://colorado.rockies.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060919&content_id=1671394&vkey=news_col&fext=.jsp&c_id=col) on mlb.com, the Rockies' schedule is no longer characterized as "preliminary." Maybe that means more teams will be releasing their 2007 info soon.

The Rockies will play their second-ever home series against the Yankees from June 19-21. The other time the Yankees visited, June 18-20, 2002, a three game Coors Field series record 146,530 watched, with each game drawing more than 48,000.

I read today that the preliminary schedule showed that 5 of six of the Yankees-Red Sox series will be on the weekends in 2007.

How does MLB justify an interlegue schedule that features two home and home for the Dodgers? They play both the Angels and Jays six games apiece.

It's preliminary, so it might change, but probably not.
