This is the thread to express what you think will happen that many might disagree with. For example I will start with one I have, and I know many will disagree.

The Mets will NOT win the NL East.

Less bold, considering the standings, but bold nevertheless given their domination in recent seasons, the Cardinals will not win the NLcentral.

The Mets will NOT win the NL East.

I would agree with you, especially considering how their rotation is in shambles, but that would mean someone would have to overtake them. As bad as the Mets are going right now, the rest of the division is worse.

That's both bold and wrong.

Substitute the Yankees for the Mets and the AL East for the NL East and you have an accurate prediction.:) :)

I disagree unless we do the smart thing which would be to punt this season and then trade Mussina and Sheffield both for top prospects then sign both of them along with Zito again during the off season, along with anything else we might need.

Bold predictions... hmmmm

Chein Ming Wang actually strikes out someone after a 2-0 count

Scott Proctor will not throw over 100 innings, nor will his arms fall off.

Melky Cabrera will hit over 15 HR.... and so will Derek Jeter.

Robinson Cano actually takes strike one.

Aaron Small will pitch for the Yankees again before Carl Pavano.. and actually do better.

Jason Giambi will get a stolen base again, and so will Bernie Williams. both of them will also get a web gem moment during the season.

1. Mussina wins Cy Young, finishes with ERA under 3.20
2. Liriano finishes with ERA under 2, but only wins 15 games b/c the Twins offense reverts to its norm.
3. Joe Mauer hits well above .400 at home, but his road numbers go down and he only hits .350 overall.
4. Papelbon blows 2 saves against the Yankees in August.
5. The mariners win the AL West.
6. AL wild card comes out of the East.
7. Gary Sheffield finishes the season with 10+ HRs.

Bump... 3 out of 4... and I was one round away from 4 out of 4 :D . I'm considering the Cards competitive since they've already taken 2 out of the three games, and even if they lose the rest, that's still competitive!

And usually I'm really really really bad with predictions.
