View Full Version : My latest road trip to the Bronx...
I was at the Stadium for a total of sixteen hours over the past two days, which was, admittedly twice as many hours as I spent driving to and from it... complete details at "Why I Like Baseball": http://www.ceciliatan.com/baseball.html
I've been sooo busy lately I have hardly had time to post and no time to jump in the game threads yet this season! (soon maybe!)

Love reading your updates, Cecilia. Sounds like you had a great time despite the rain/delays/cancellation/loss on Sunday.
'Sunflower Seed Baseball'.:D ..something Marlins fans could enjoy during their rain delays in So Florida this season. I could have used something this competitive to wile away the 3 hours I spent at a rain delayed last September. We amused ourselves with our 'camera phones' instead.:) ...tarp on...tarp off...tarp on...tarp off...:D

Hi Cecilia,
I heard part of your interview on New Hampshire Public Radio's "The Front Porch" last week. You came across as very knowledgeable and personable (even though I knew you were a Yankee fan).
Unfortunately, I was in my car and couldn't stay tuned for the end. Do you live in NH? How did you happen to be on that program?

We added a few additional rules, such as any shell that hit a bystander was considered foul... :)
God, the nerve of Giambi to make two errors while I was there and then hit two homers the next day when I was sitting at home. Doesn't he know he's supposed to do that when I'm there? Geez.

I actually live in the Boston area. Because I've written/edited a couple of books on the Red Sox, I did "The Front Porch" a while back and now they call me whenever they need a baseball historian. History of the baseball draft? No problem!

Thanks Cecilia. I also enjoy your updates, and commiserate with trying to catch 880 AM, weather & daylight depending ;-). It was weird to see the empty stands, but I think I might have been there the last time it happened, with a mid-week day make-up a few years back (they talked about it being the lowest attendance at the time) ... and I saw a few of these types of games in the '80s, but that was a different era.
