Yankees Lineup:

Damon
Jeter(DH)
Rodriguez
Posada
Williams
Cano
Phillips
Cabrera
Cairo

A's Lineup:

Kotsay
Swisher
Bradley
Chavez
Payton
Johnson
Kendall
Scutaro
Rouse

Anyone else glad Frank Thomas isn't playing today, with the way he's been mashing lately?

You know, if there was some progressive thinking going on, Joe should consider batting Jeter 3rd today instead of 2nd. I remember in the late 90's when the Indians led off with Lofton, Vizquel and Alomar and then had them backed up by Thome and Ramirez. Hopefully Joe would consider that and put Cabrera 2nd and Jeter 3rd followed by Giambi and ARod.

Nice catch by Melky to start off the game.

Edit...never mind. Just saw that Thomas isn't in the line up, thank goodness.

He is more then capable of playing SS while Jeter is out. They dont have a choice today cuz Giambi isnt there and Andy is at first.

But it should have been going on since Jeter went down initially. Cairo is bad, and brings nothing to the table. He cant hit, and its not like he is good defensively at SS either.
