Interesting that Joe is letting Jorge catch a day game after a night game. I guess he realizes we need his bat in the lineup and there is an off day coming up on Monday.
Still no Andy, we will probably not see him until Tuesday when Jeter most likely returns to the field.

Waldman on today's pre-game said Torre thought Johnson's arm didn't have any pop and seemed lifeless. He asked Johnson if he had any arm issues and Johnson said no.
I think his main arm issue is having a 42 year old arm.

Giambi perplexes me at times. He takes a 2 out walk but he refuses to take advantage of a gift base hit on the leftside of the infield. Yes, it's poor hitting to swing at pitches outside the strike zone, but it's also poor hitting not to take advantage of the defense.
That was not a nice play, he booted it a bit.
Jorge is hurt. Anyone other that Jorge or someone named Molina would have beaten that out easily.
I swear to God, if they keep calling Saarloos Houdini the entire game...
I compare it to an elderly senile man who makes a joke and gets a chuckle. Then will go on to restate said joke over and over and over, including in depth explanations to the point that you want to wheel them down a cliff.

I totally get that Costas is a very respected sports analyst as well as a bigtime Yankee fan. His preaching, however, at times makes me want to put a hole in the wall. This is the same guy who idolizes Mantle and views him as perhaps the greatest sports figure. Meanwhile, Mickey was out doing unbelievably stupid things including the usage of amphetamines.

I'm not saying that Costas is on the same level of Buck. Buck is a melonhead, who provides absolutely no insight to sports in any fashion whatsoever.
Costas is a really smart guy, but at times it just feels like he is sittin on some high horse in judgement of every single athlete alive. Which is why I think his worship of Mickey is ridiculous.

Anything to get rid of Buck and McCarver, but I think that people who put BC on a pedestal may be experiencing selective memory. Costas at his best was, IMO, leagues better than the younger Buck, but you're right, BC's propensity to preach was just as self righteous as JB's, if not more so.
We will see if NBC gets the contract, but my guess is that many will discover that it has been absence that has made the heart grow fonder, and that renewed familiarity will bring contempt.
