I wish I could despise Tim Wakefield just by looking at him the way I do Curt Schilling, but there is just something about him where I can't.
You've got to admire his loyalty to the Red Sox. They gave him a job all those years ago when all the other major league teams looked at him and said: knuckleballer, Yuck.

He signed that wierd mutual option contract with the RS that essentially made him the only majorleager today playing under the old reserve system, i.e., bound for life to one team.

Because ESPN was able to negotiate into their new baseball contract that they wanted to tap into the home markets of teams for "Monday Night Baseball". They got it and therefore, you are no longer blacked out on Monday nights ONLY while still getting the game on YES.

Ahh, interesting.

Wild pitch by Beckett. Melky tried to go to 2nd and may have been caught out if it wasn't for a horrendous throw by Varitek that allowed Melky to go to third... then Bowa realized that Youkilis wasn't covering home, and Melky went for it.

Moose at 17 pitches after 1.
