Yeah Wang has hit 97 on occasion, he did it pretty regularly last year in a game against the Cubs and one against the Orioles.

Jim Palmer made a good point. If you're going to throw righthanders the outside corner with 95+ heat, why is your middle defense playing up the middle. Shade Cano over in the second base hole.

its his save if he ends it.I think that you only need a "tying run on deck" thing to get a save. In a 1-run game, it's always a save for the last pitcher.

This game reminded me a LOT of a day/night doubleheader in Cleveland from 1996. The Yanks were barely holding on to first place and no one was available to pitch - so the Yanks started Boehringer (fresh from Columbus) in the afternoon and Mendoza at night. Everyone was writing both games off as losses, yet somehow the Yankees held on and won BOTH games.
Today, no one in the bullpen yet they hang on to win - with Wang getting the save on his throw day.
This team has a lot of 1996 in them.
