Our lineup has been very pesky in Detroit.
Small bites. I think they may know that trying to hit homeruns in that park is a battle they may not win, so to this point all the Yankees runs have come on singles and doubles.

Suzyn just said Jeff Weaver is 2-7. I'm glad to see the Yanks were justified in given up on him.
Weaver won his last game against the Texas Rangers, and tonight he'll try and win two games in a row for the first time this year when he takes the hill against the Minnesota Twins.
"Before my last game in Arlington, I was just hoping not to get knocked around, and then I gave up a home run to Brad Wilkerson," Weaver said. "Once that happened, I said to myself, `What am I doing out here? This isn't how I pitch.' And it lit a fire under me."
Weaver signed a one-year contract with the Angels in the offseason for more than $8 million, and he's been a major disappointment.
The right-hander is 2-7 with a 6.99 ERA, and there was even talk that he might lose his job in the starting rotation to, of all people, his younger brother Jered Weaver, who sparkled in his Angels debut Saturday night.

Of the top 50 players in on-base percentage this season, just four - Boston's Kevin Youkilis (eighth at .435 entering yesterday), St. Louis' David Eckstein (26th at .402), Florida's Hanley Ramirez (31st at .396) and Milwaukee's Rickie Weeks (41st at .387) - are everyday leadoff hitters. http://www.philly.com/mld/inquirer/sports/14695492.htm

i think it is funny how at certain points people compared arod and jeter, with wright and reyes
Especially with Reyes, who shouldnt be compared to anyone other than Tony Womack
Bases juiced, 2 gone

but he is only so young
never mind is terrible baseball instincts
and wright as a fielder
but they are just as good and will be better

Just got home from work and see the bottom of the order is doing a lot of damage. The Red Sox are losing. Rescue Me starts back up tonight. Today is a good day.

Wow. Steve Mizerak died. :(
Double A Ron making mincemeat of the over anxious Tiger hitters.
This series will spell the beginning of the end for the Tigers. They swing at anything.

How could there even be a remote comparison?
We all know that Met fans are dellusional
Let's play the "assume" game.
Assuming that Small pitches as well as this (and maybe better--remember, the Tigers have been hitting pretty well before this series) and
Assuming all the pitchers are healthy
Where does Small pitch?
A. No where, we trade him for [insert perceived need here]
B. LR
C.The rotation, in Wright's spot who gets traded for [see above]

I was wondering on that too, did Bernie make another good b aserunning play? I still remember that "double" against the Mets where he hustled his tail off.

No one would trade for Wright's contract, no one would trade anything good for Small, so B.
