...or even better, as the Units personal catcher again. For those of you who are curious as to what the real reason is that Flash caught all of RJ's games last year, heres the answer. Flash's observations are great and would be extremely beneficial to the ballclub if they were relayed to Johnson firsthand.

Don't you think Guidry, Kerrigan, JoPo, or any other astute observer can come to the same conclusions as Flash?

Stinnett makes Flaherty's bat look like Pujols

Note to Cashman and Yankee front office: Buy a baseball Encyclopedia or look up baseball-reference.com on the web. Check out a hard throwing, conditioning fanatic lefthander named Steve Carlton. When did he have his last good year?
Answer: 1984 when he was 39. Now check Randy Johnson's age (or any pitcher you plan to sign/trade for and give a big contract to.

I can see him being a special advisor and still be able to do his duties at YES.

The thing is, its not velocity that is his problem. Well it is but its not, it isnt a decline in stuff in a normal sence. When his mechanics are right and he is going good he still throws 94-96, hitting 97. Then like what Flash said he is releasing the ball later when everything is going right so it seems even faster. Now I dont know if there is an injury or something but something is preventing Johnson from getting his delivery consistantly good. It isnt just a natural decline in stuff, imo. That being said I have my doubts on Johnson figuring it out, his delivery has to be out of whack for a reason, and Johnson just doesnt have any confidence left.

Also instead of having Flash catch, why not just ask him to talk to Randy every so often? Hell Flash can be Johnson's own personal pitching coach for all I care.

How many advisors does he need?

He's got fellow pitchers, two catchers, two former catchers, and two former pitchers.

Note to Cashman, beware of 40+ year old pitchers.

and he's got an era close to 6 through 11 starts. all i know is that last year, when flash caught johnson, he was pretty darn good and for all the money they have invested in that guy to be our ace, it wouldnt hurt to cut a check to flaherty to get him back out there with him in some capacity
