Ok....Melky is your everyday LF. Everyone healthy, and the loss of Matsui may turn out to be a little more muted. If they can get .285 with a nice mid 3's OBP from Melky, it wouldn't leave the suspected black hole in their lineup we all thought. Not Hideki, but not a bad hitter. The lineup- with Posada and Sheff healthy, is still excellent.
Now just need a pitcher or two.

I don't like the "catcher standing" deal.It is particularly annowing when the pitcher fails to hit the target.

It's true he's only two pitches from a very good outing....but if my aunt had a package, she'd be my uncle.

If Erickson really pitches the 6th, I'll be pretty furious. He's terrifying. Only thing saving him thus far is his 0.000 BABIP. That's going to correct, and do so in a big way.

Why can't that 21 year old guy use two hands when he makes a catch????
Silver lining? He recorded the final 9 outs quite nicely...seriously. He pitched like absolute crap...but he ended strong.

Well, Proctor can't pitch so I think he is going to have to at some point of time. Might as well do it for the bottom of the order. Erickson for the 6th, Villone for the 7th (although I know Torre will just keep in Erickson if he does the job in the 6th), Farnsworth in the 8th and Mr. Rivera in the 9th.

Its called inconsistency, my friend.
Can we discuss Bernie? He is on fire right now....I never thought he'd hit like this again, but ride it while it's hot. Ideally the DH...but still....

I'd sure rather see Colter Bean (yes, I know he was DFA'd) than Erickson. Heck, I'd rather see Mel dust off the cleats than have Erickson step on the mound with a 3 run lead.

Erickson was actually pretty good in AAA as a reliever and has done pretty well for us so far. Bean scared the hell out of me with his last inning. Either way, Erickson is coming in and he is facing crap hitters so I think he'll do his job. Just no walks please.
