Hang on, let me be sure I understand this.
I totally get why the forum disallows saying a player "stinks" (or worse).
But we're not even allowed to qualify it and say a guy stinks tonight?

Of course not. But why take out a guy who has thrown 5 shutout innings and only 73 pitches? At the very least, wait until he leaves someone on base. And as someone else mentioned, we might need our bullpen tomorrow when RJ pitches. Maybe Wright went to Joe and said he can't go? I dunno... The Joe/RJ/A-Rod bashing is just getting old...
No, it is his fault that he pulled a guy who had 73 pitches, had just gone through Boston's heart of the order, and looked very good.
As we've said...let's all wait to hear if there is a reason. Common logic says that he at least started to tighten up a bit, so let's wait for the info before we start jumping on Torre.
If it turns out it was simply a decision to go to the pen, terrible move and we ALL will grill him for it. But I suspect that's not true.

So it's Joe's fault Proctor is laying an egg???
Wright was at 73 pitches and 5 innings. Proctor should be sitting down watching the game and scratching himself in the bullpen right now.

fixed.
Unless Wright is hurt, Joe made a completely stupid move. If Wright is fine, there is no possible way to defend that move. None, at all.

Whew, thank god, a DP.
I still want answers from Torre. Great Idea take out the pitcher who is baffling the lineup with a shutout.
Unreal, you would think Francona was secretly managing the yanks.
Lets get that run back!!
Nah, if he was doing that, the Yanks will never win a WS again :)

Torre is handling Wright with kiddie gloves... He's trying to be too cute here.
what happened to Wright? or was that the typical Torre "apropos of nothing" quick hook?

True, amico mio :)
Best restaurant in Maui, in my opinion, was Capische. Little place in Wailea located in the Diamond Resort. Food was awesome, and you could see the sunset. Liked it even better than Mama's Fish House, Spago, Roy's, and the other really good places. It was the honeymoon, so we tried to go to all of the great places. :)

I'm afraid it's time to put my Joe Torre apologist cape on again....
It seems to me that none of us have the information that Torre does about Wright's physical condition, stamina, blah, blah, blah. Why not wait until you hear what he has to say before you burn him in effigy?

B/c Torre is notorious for pulling dominant pitchers for no reason. See Mussina, game in Tx a few weeks ago for a recent example.

alright, i am not going to knock the T-Long/Melky decision, as long as Cabrera comes in when wakefield is done
I completely disagree. Long is better defensively than Melky, so why would you make that move with only 1 at-bat for Melky?

Wow... it really looks like they're pitching around Sheff to get to Alex. It can't possibly be, as they'd never move someone into scoring position...but he's been nowhere near Sheff a few times...
