Bashing Players, Managers, the Media, etc:
Bashing of players , anyone who works for the Yankees or covers the Yankees will not be tolerated. That goes for ALL players and ALL teams . But remember - negative analysis is NOT bashing, provided it is backed up with fact. For example:
Bashing a player would be saying:
"Derek Jeter sucks!"
Whereas a legitimate analysis of a player would be:
"I don't think that Derek Jeter is the best defensive shortstop in the league, but based on his fielding percentage and range factor, he isn't near the bottom of the list either."

A very disturbing thought is that the Yankees starting pitching is mediocre. Mussina is a very good pitcher, but a guy who is 100 pitches and done just about every time is tough to consider a true ace. I like Wang, but he's much better suited to being a good middle of the rotation guy.

I must disagree. Over the past 15 games or so, the ONLY poor starting pitching performances have been turned in by RJ and Shawn Chacon. A team with a better defense (i.e. Detroit), would have given up less runs than the Yankees have. They do have the AL's 3rd lowest ERA for starters(I think).

Hey....not saying these guys aren't capable of pitching well. They are. But with the exception of Wang and Mussina, most of them throw TONS of pitches. It will put a strain on the pen. Additionally, guys like Chacon/Wright/Wang- I like them, but you can't count on them to be consistently good the whole way through.

I hope I'm wrong, but unless RJ miraculously becomes RJ, I think the Yanks are a good pitcher short.

I like watching the games for some reason.

The MUTE button!!!!!

I tried to give him a chance this year, but he pissed me off in the Oakland series... the 1st one of the season. Something to do with Frank Thomas not being a Hall of Famer because of the past four seasons.

A-Rod. Ugh.

That person cannot really be up in the bullpen, can he? I'm too repulsed to even type his name.

DiMaggio5CF

Well at least we can kill the theory that A-Rod makes errors in big spots.

Ok...before people get out of whack...they don't have many options for long men. Now, rip the Yanks (Torre, Cashman, whomever) for having Scott Erickson in the majors. But without Small available, if you need someone in the 5th it has to be your long man.

You'd rather Scott "I need a day off" Proctor?

Small is pitching Sunday, it's too early for Myers, and Villone will pitch the 7th, I would think.

Then, hopefully, Farnsy and Mo.

DiMaggio5CF
05-19-06, 08:14 PM
I don't like this. I think Torre is going to use Erickson so that he can pinch hit for him without hesitation when the pitcher's spot comes up.

I say go to Scott Proctor for the sixth and seventh. Forget pinch hitting for him. If you go to Erickson, by the time the pitcher's spot rolls around, you might be out of the game.

CalYankeeFan

Why does it feel like the Yankees are tied?

The score is tied up, the fielders can't move because they are tied down to their position on the field, the ball is tied to Cano's hands, and the Yankees are tied to RJ's contract.

Who for the 6th? It will be only one inning in all likelihood, as the pitcher will need to hit in the 7th (unless they take the lead or have the pitcher up with 2 outs and nobody on).
