Well, according to all the papers this morning we will have (pick one) Abreu,Burrell,Griffey,Hunter,Stewart....so Bernie will get less at bats. Hence less negative posts. ;)

I asked Lou for permission to do this, so here it goes....
Free to a good home (first come, first served)......
I have 2 ticket coupons from a MBNA credit card incentive offer for a Yankees game that I'm offering up for grabs. These aren't tickets per se, but coupons that can be exchanged for tickets. There is a little work involved because according to the coupon it must be redeemed at the advanced ticket window or at any designated sales booth (I'm not sure if that includes ticketmaster, or not?). Here are the restrictions listed on the coupon: "to any 2006 regular season, Monday-Thursday home game, (excluding all Premium Games*). Coupon valid for 1 complimentary Tier Reserved, Bleachers or 1/2 price Main Box, Main Reserved, Tier Box MVP or Tier Box ticket. All seating is subject to availability. * the term premium game is identified as the opening day game, the old timer's game and all games played against the Red Sox and the Mets.".
So, there it is, you now know as much as I know about these coupons. If you're interested, send a PM to me with the address you want me to send them to and I will get them into the mail for you. I only request that you actually use them, if you take them off my hands.

Looks like we traded Javy for Javy.
Randy Johnson's fastball these days maxes out at around 92-93. Mixing that in with a flat slider does not bode well for success. This is perhaps one of the most regrettable contract extensions in Yankee history.

What is so negative about "Pray for Rain?"
Way back when the USA had some free speech, there was a slogan that became real popular for the Braves when they had two good pitchers. It went something like this, "Spahn and Sain and two days of rain."
So if I read you right, that slogan should be banned. C'mon, let's get reasonable here.

I'm not one to judge the tone of posts. Clearly this hasn't been all kittens and puppies today. To expect people to be resoundingly bouncy and happy seems a little much.
As always, I'm concerned with player bashing:
Bashing Players, Managers, the Media, etc:
Bashing of players , anyone who works for the Yankees or covers the Yankees will not be tolerated. That goes for ALL players and ALL teams . But remember - negative analysis is NOT bashing, provided it is backed up with fact. For example:
Bashing a player would be saying:
"Derek Jeter sucks!"
Whereas a legitimate analysis of a player would be:
"I don't think that Derek Jeter is the best defensive shortstop in the league, but based on his fielding percentage and range factor, he isn't near the bottom of the list either."
In addition, bashing players on other teams, other athletes, celebrities or others in the public eye will also not be tolerated. Link (http://www.nyyfans.com/communityStandards.php#8)
And respect for fellow posters:
Respect Everyone's Opinion:
Please treat your fellow forumers with respect. Just because you disagree with another user's opinion doesn't give you the right to insult or otherwise demean someone. An opinion different than your isn't necessarily a wrong one nor does it mean that the other person is lacking in intelligence because they don't see things your way. We want our users to feel comfortable posting their opinions, even unpopular ones, without fear that they will be slammed for it. No matter how crazy or outlandish an opinion is, it is still that user's opinion and they are entitled to it. Insults, whether direct or indirect are not permitted. For example, posting "Only a moron would think that signing Johnny Damon was a good move," might not directly insult a specific user but is still a violation of our community standards. He wasn't batting right handed. His OPS Vs RHP is below .475.
I don't really like the way they are approaching this... I know Haren doesn't walk people, but they are swinging at everything, and accordingly their offense so far has been a HR when down in the count 0-2. They could go 6-7 innings with a couple runs and Haren throwing like 59 pitches this way
