Some guy on the radio said that Pujols is turning into a new version of Bonds - the way that he addresses the media, the things that he says, etc. Basically Pujols has been acting like kind of a jerk recently.
Its bizarre, before this season he was regarded as one of the best guys in the game by most sources. A loving father and husband that donated to charities, and had a charity for kids with Downs Syndrome. He was always respectful in interviews and what not. It seemed ever since his agent was connected with the steroid accusation, that his personality has changed for the worst.

Didn't Pujols see the backlash that Faith Hill got at the CMA's? Absolutely classless and stupid move on his part.

I don't picture Albert as a big country music fan.
You're right about the second part though.

Did he hire Scott Boras ;)?
I always thought he was a good guy. I wonder what happened?

I hope he hits 80 home runs next year.
...and finishes second again.
Talk about timing. SI's Albert Chen posted an article at 3:00 this afternoon promoting Pujols for Sportsman of the Year.
I bet he feels pretty silly now.

I agree he deserved the award this year. However, he likely lost a few votes next year.

My favourite player...but, Albert, for the love of God...dont speak.
This was completely uncalled for..as were his comments about Glavine in the NLCS.
He is a good guy...just gets hot..quick. I think this..as well as the Glavine issue is a case in point.
Just shut up...put .333/.430/.650 with 100+ rbis and 100-runs scored and let the sports writers continue to be idiots...see Law, Keith.

What does this mean for the WBC and other international competitions?
ST. LOUIS -- Albert Pujols is now a U.S. citizen.
The St. Louis Cardinals slugger took the oath of citizenship in a ceremony at the Eagleton Courthouse in St. Louis on Wednesday. The first baseman's wife, Dee Dee, secretly arranged to have nearly two-dozen friends and other supporters on hand for the swearing-in ceremony with Judge E. Richard Webber.
Chester Moyer, the officer in charge of the U.S. Citizen and Immigration Service office in St. Louis, says Pujols scored 100 percent on his citizenship test.

Likely nothing. Manny Ramirez and (I think) David Ortiz are US Citizens, and David played in the WBC on the Dominican team, and Manny almost played for the Dominican team (though, he was given the option to play for the USA team, too) All it means, is that Pujols can pick what team he'd play for, I think

Nothing he will still play for DR.
He is not alike Arod... One day DR another US, then no game then DR then US... You know the drill

Shocking.... an unnecessary dig at A-Rod in a thread that has nothing to do with him.
The madness......

Citizenship basically means nothing in the WBC. I believe Mike Piazza played for Italy.

100% pretty impressive...

(Edit: I thought you had to take all 100 but really only 10 are chosen for the test...but hey, still impressive)

Yeah, it's more of a heritage than an actual citizenship thing
I hope he goes out and has the best season of his career in 2007.

Being officially a citizen should mean there is no doubt he's his actual age. Meaning age 27, traditionally the peak of players' careers is coming up...

I think he's left the country before though and with the 9/11 changes to that, i think it would be hard to not have that surface by now.
