Maybe Joe is making it up to Bern for making the late decision to take him out of the lineup yesterday? Proving to bernie he still has confidence in him? That psychological explanation is the only card I can see Joe playing. Otherwise, Cano is proving himself every day and I'm sure he'll be moving up consistently.

Exactly. An analysis came out after Moneyball was written that showed that statistically there are times when it makes more sense to bunt. It depends on who is batting.
