News: The Florida Marlins put rookie outfielder Jeremy Hermida and right-hander Carlos Martinez on the 15-day disabled list Monday. Hermida has a sore right hip, which had sidelined him for the last four games. Martinez has a strained right elbow.

Analysis: Hermida plans to take a few days off to rest the hip. He was placed on the DL retroactive to April 12, so he could be back before the end of the month. "It's something you don't want to become chronic," manager Joe Girardi said. "It doesn't make any sense to push it." Hermida hit .250 in six games with one double. Reserve him until further notice.

You can DL guys on your own, provided that Sportsline makes the change from "A" to "DL". Otherwise, just ask and I'll do it for you.
