Awww, it's too bad I live nowhere near New York! ^^ Jorge's my mom's absolute favorite player, and it would be cool to get his book signed by him for her. *sigh* LOL
That's still neat that he's doing that though.

My dad's friend is hooking Jorge up with a car, and I was promised a signed photo made out to me. Hopefully the guy remembered, he came through for me with a signed Duque photo.
The book signing sounds cool though I may go. It would be great to meet him. Also, I want to shake his hand to see if the urine has been effective.

I wouldn't hold my breath.
Did anyone else go to this? I got two copies signed, and I don't even have any kids! :)
They didn't allow anything to be signed but the book (a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Jorge Posada Foundation), but they did allow some pictures. I didn't have a camera, though, so I missed out on that. Jorge and Laura were both there and were very nice and gracious.
There's a thread started by PeteRFNY in Just Conversation about how the Posadas turned up at the ABC complex this morning to do radio promotion for the book:
OK, So Here's How MY Day Began. (http://forums.nyyfans.com/showthread.php?t=94603) Must have been just before his gig at B&N.
The book is charming. It's about how Little Jorge learned to be a switch hitter and won the big game against the team managed by his father (who, of course, was the one who insisted that Little Jorge learn to bat lefty as well as righty). It also features the Posada family's trip to New York and Yankee Stadium, where Little Jorge vows he will play one day.
I see on Amazon.com that it's also available in Spanish:

Today too? I saw him on Cold Pizza yesterday. He pretty much gave a rundown of the book's plot and then answered a few questions regarding his thoughts on Roger Clemens possibly coming back to the Yankees.

I know Posada is doing a lot of appearances to promote the book but until this thread I had no clue that he has a children's book, the proceeds of which benefits his foundation. I hate to be critical but it might be helpful to them to send out a press release if they haven't done so to a wider variety of places, including sites like this one where there are many Yankee fans.

The book actually looks really cute. My little cousin who is a baseball fanatic has a Birthday coming up in May, so I think I may get this for him. Plus, some of the proceeds go to a good cause.

Jorge was up at my job earlier in the day doing a bunch of radio interviews - even rode up in the elevator with him and Laura!
I posted it - along with a clip from the WPLJ interview - in Just Conversation:

No, just yesterday. Sorry my post was a little misleading, it had today's date on it because I posted around 1:00 am.

LOL!!! Didn't even see that - the perils of posting while at work!
There were a couple of copies of the book left up here (not signed, unfortunately) and it IS a very cute book - very good for the young'uns!

This Onion article about Jorge's book is pretty funny:
