Matt Cain ?

I would like to get a clear picture on one of my minor leaguers, SP Matt Cain of the Giants.

As I understand the rule;


13.4.1 If a player drafted in the minor league draft is activated by his major league team prior to September 1, the team has 7 days to activate that player. If the player is not activated within this time period, he will be automatically placed on waivers.

Do I have to add him to my active roster or risk losing him on waivers, is this correct?

The Giants opening day was 4/3, so I have until 4/10 to add him.

Can I then pick up a minor league free agent?

Or am I allowed to keep Cain in the minors as long as I want?

You have to activate him within the week if he isn't filling in for a DL'd MLr prior to 9/1.

If you don't, he is placed on Waivers.

If you do activate him, you can then pick up another mLr.

Can you change Loewen, Adam RP salary to $5. I just picked him up to replace Matt Cain whom I promoted yesterday.
