Randy Johnson will be on the mound today against Cincinnati. Jeter, A-Rod, Damon, Bernie are all training for the WBC so expect to possibly see Marcos Vechionacci, Miguel Cairo, and Melky Cabrera play again. Game time is 1:15pm ET. Enjoy the game folks, Go Yankees!

On Gameday Audio (WCBS) it's being said that Tony Pena has bonded with Jorge Posada. They're also noting that Jorge will be catching Randy today.
WCBS broadcast today. I can't explain how happy I am.

I know, I don't regret the Gameday Audio buy. It's so wierd to hear a home broadcast again, it's like being in Connecticut again only not as cold. :D

With Crosby becoming a sort of regular at the end of last year and being out of options I can see why they would assume that... Let's hope KT at least opens some eyes in the FO.

Probably due to the fact he's EASILY the best defensive OF on the team, plus he has some speed. No offense to KThomp, but this is Bubba's job to lose.

So Randy pitched 2 innings and gave up 2 earned runs? Could have been worse his first start....
I am fairly sure he is a notoroiusly bad spring training pitcher for the better part of his career.

Why do you act as if Bubba Crosby is a major leaguer? Is it the career 554 OPS?
Bubba's range is no better than Damon, and his arm isnt anything to write home about either, but thats not what we're talking about.

If you look at Thompsons stat line, you notice a disturbing trend. At his first time at any level, be stinks.
Last year was just an example, he posted great numbers in Trenton, but when he moved up to AAA, his numbers got significantly worse. Yankee officials think this is because it takes him a long time to get adjusted to each level. He is a very emotional player. I think in the long run he'd be a better option than Crosby, but I think starting him at AAA and bringing him up in September would be a better idea than outright giving him the job outside of spring training.

Does anyone know the velocity of randy's fastball yesterday? It would be good to know what hes throwin now at the age of 43.
