I have the unfortunate situation of having to work with a bunch of Sawx fans in my office - one of them actually came in wearing a replica jersey that says "Champs 04" on the back. I went Googling for Sawx jokes but they were all pre-'04 so unfortunately they don't work as well anymore. Anyone know of any I can needle these people with?

:) About the only thing we can say is we have the first Championship. Weird though. We have both the first and the one-hundredth World Series Championships.

You're lucky you get to work with such nice people, you should let them be. ;)

It's not nice to tease the mentally challenged.

No. 2003 was the 100th anniversary, which means the 101st overall. But there was no World Series in 1904 or 1994, so that means that 2003 was the 99th World Series, which would make 2004 the 100th World Series.

Don't bother with stupid little jokes. Just remind them that it's 26 to 6.

Ask them some trivia...

Which World Series champion had the highest payroll in during the season they won their Championship? - The 2004 Red Sox. $127,298,500.00

Of course, it will only be good for another year... As the Yankees will be expected to add number 27 this year!

Oh please, please, plEEEEEEAAAAASSSSe be right!

You could always rub in their face that we got Damon. I'm sure if Crisp sucks they'll get aggravated with it. You could also ask them how their "ace" Schilling is doing, but do that at your own risk because Curt himself may bring a media crew and answer you to your face.

Why bother?

Just smile and wink at them.

Just smile and wink at them.

And then tell them to go F themselves. ;) Works for me!

One time, right after the Red Sox won, I was talking to a Sox fan, and this is how the conversation went:

Me: Let me get this straight. Your team won the World Series.

Him: That's right.

Me: Kicked the crap out of my team.

Him: That's right.

Me: Came back from 3-0

Him: That's right.

Me: First team ever to do that.

Him: That's right.

Me: Then swept the World Series.

Him: That's right.

Me: Erased an 86-year-old curse.

Him: That's right.

Me: One of the best performances in the history of baseball.

Him: That's right.

Me: And you're still a douche?

Him: That's ri -- hey, wait a minute!

Everyone in the bar had a good laugh at that one.

EDIT: It was all good-natured, though. I wasn't friends with this guy, but we hung out at the same bar and we'd always crack on each other and each other's teams, so it wasn't anything mean or out of character.
