No one's eating lately? The crockpot pepper steak was good but too liquidy - I have to "play" with the recipe before I post it.

Apparently tonight I'm having wheat thins - JP called to tell me he's stuck in traffic and doesn't want to make a delivery man come out in this weather so I should just eat now, which would make more sense if I had planned on cooking dinner tonight, so I'm nibbling wheat thins.

Anyway, we're going to the Japanese food court tonight. I suppose I'll get the smallest bowl of noodles or something....

Oops ... sorry. :o Wasn't avoiding you, Mike. :) I went away to do some 1800's baseball research for awhile.

I haven't bought one of their ready to cook pizzas. I'm talking about their pizza from up front -- where you can buy it by the cooked slice, or buy an already cooked whole pie, or you can also get one of their special quarter-pound dogs ... or Polish dog ... and an endless cup of soda for $1.50.

The pizza is better than a lot of chain pizza places around ... something expecially true in Ohio. The pizzas are big. A lot of chains call a 14-inch pizza a large. I'm pretty sure that Costco pizzas are 16-inch ... extra large size at a pizza chain.

Regular price at Costco is $9.99 I believe. Same price for the deluxe combo. HOWEVER ... the reason I'm off to pick up a few, in about five minutes from now, is because until the end of this month ... the pepperoni pizza is three dollars off ........ so that puts them under 7 bucks! :D Maybe the others are three dollars off too. I'll find out soon. ;)

The meatloaf I make I got off a box of Stovetop stuffing.

You add a bag of stuffing to about 3 lbs of meat, and add in a can of mushroom gravy and another can of water.

I think the recipe is on the mushroom flavored stuffing box.

This is exactly the recipe I use. I omit the carrots and celery though, and I don't bake it in a loaf pan. I use a Pampered Chef baking pan and form the loaf freeform. It doesn't sit in the fat that way. Works great.

I think the recipe is on the mushroom flavored stuffing box. That reminds me of a meatloaf muffins recipe that I got from someone at a Weight Watchers meeting once. 1 lb. lean ground beef, 1 cup hot water, 2 egg whites, a package stove top stuffing mix. Mix it all together and place in 12 cupcake tins. Bake at 350 for about 45 minutes. 2 Weight Watcher points per "muffin."

I made roasted lamb last night. Came out delicious.

Fileted open a boneless leg of lamb, filled it with olive oil, dijon, rosemary, thyme, oregano, sherry, and lots of course garlic. Rolled it up tightly and tied it. Topped the outside with dijon and oilive oil. Cooked it at 350 until it hit 133.

Made pan sauce out of Pinot Nior (I was drinking it at the time), a little chicken stock, sherry, thyme, soy sauce, and flour to thicken.

Oddly the garlic in middle turned green, apparently that was because of the acid in the
sherry. No change in taste however. Heres a crappy picture I took on my iPhone.

I'm not a ketchup fan and don't like sweetness in my food so I might try this recipe substituting Tomato Sauce for the ketchup and just omit the brown sugar and see how that turns out. I am sure it will still be good for me because I am not used to the sweetness so I don't think I would miss it.

It'll be too watery with tomato sauce.

The brown sugar is just for the glaze on top. I'm sure you could do it without a glaze.

It's my first time trying this, so I haven't posted the recipe. I just lifted the lid to smell it, and oh my does it smell good. This recipe came from a little pamphlet that was in the Crock Pot when I bought it. Here's the recipe:

Salt & pepper
2 tsp paprika
1 1/2 lb beef stew meat, cut into cubes
1 Tbsp vegetable oil
2 cups sliced sh*take or white mushrooms
3 shallots, thinly sliced
1 1/s cups low sodium beef broth
1/2 cup sour creamSprinkle 3/4 tsp salt, pepper and 1 tsp paprika over beef cubes. Warm oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook beef cubes, stirring occasionally, until browned on all sides, about 8 minutes. Transfer meat to crock.

Add mushrooms, shallots and remaining 1 tsp paprika to skillet; season with salt and cook for 3 minutes, stirring often. Combine beef broth with sour cream and pur into pan with mushrooms and shallots. Cook for 2 minutes, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of skillet. Pour mushroom mixture over beef in crock, cover and cook on low until beef is tender, 6 hours. Sprinkle with fresh chopped dill or parsley just before serving if desired. Server over egg noodles.

We'll see how it comes out, but I'm pretty optimistic.

It's very easy. Peel and cut up the apples, put them in a pot with a little water. Add sugar and cinammon if you like (I don't use much especially if the apples are sweet). Simmer until the apples are really soft. You can mash them or put them in a blender if you don't like chunky applesauce. So yummy! :)

The girl I'm dating and I are making spaghetti with home made meat sauce, garlic bread, and salad. Yum.

I should have come over there to eat.

I had nothing because I had a dental appt at 5:15, and had a tooth pulled. I was afraid that if I ate, and got nauseous during the procedure..... well, you get thepicture.

Now I'm hungry but can't eat til tomorrow.
Besides, my mouth is still numb.
Yes. I DO look like an idiot.

Perfect excuse for milkshakes.Without a straw, though. Bad to suck a milkshake from a straw when you've had a tooth pulled. :)

Actually, my dentist told me I could have ice cream (eaten, not sucked up through a straw, which would make my extraction site bleed).

I might just do that in about an hour or so.
