Like books on tape?

I do. Read an unabridged one a long time back about Joe D. It was great. They're fun to listen too in the background when you're busy doing something else. Like a long drive. Like when posting at NYYFans.

When I was in Colorado for a wedding, my sister took me to an outlet store and I got a new one. The retail price seemed kind of high (49.95) but I only paid 13.99! Maybe it was because of the topic. :D FAITHFUL. The book that had Varitek safely in his catchers mask on with some Yankee fellow whose face cannot be seen. :eek:

Anyone else read these kind of books? They are on CD too.

I have Catcher in the Rye on 8-Track Tape, but it Ka-Chunks during all the good parts.

Nope. :D But I would recomend both James A. Michner's "Centennial" and "Hawaii". Both were great listening but long.

The "Diary of Anne Frank" that is read by Winona Ryder is sad but great.

I'd rather read than listen.....I find that the narrators of the books read way too slow for me. I'm a fast reader (300 pages in about 2 hours) and I get bored listening to the tapes.

I used to listen to books a lot during my work commute but since I got satellite I don't really feel the need.

Why pay $50 for a 300 page book to be read to you? Seems very lazy to me.

I paid $20 for Flags of Our Fathers on tape. Senior year inn highschool, I didnt want to do a damn thing

I love them for road trips. I also like them because I have ADD and reading a book is not the easiest of tasks.
