I'll be buying this issue of Vanity Fair just to see what she has to say. Good on her for admitting she's had problems and that she's working to overcome them. I hope she's made peace with whatever caused her so much grief.

Lindsay Lohan admits to Vanity Fair contributing editor Evgenia Peretz that at one point she began using drugs "a little," but adds quickly, "I've gotten that out of my system." Lohan also tells Peretz, "I was making myself sick," referring to her bulimia. In the extensive interview in the February issue of Vanity Fair (on newsstands in New York and L.A. on January 4 and nationally January 10), Lohan talks about her violent father, her near self-destruction and emotional breakthrough, and about a film she wants to write about a girl growing up in Hollywood and "how crazy a person can go. But, at the same time, how much they can change."

Lohan tells Peretz that when she was especially skinny, Tina Fey and Lorne Michaels "sat me down, literally before I was going to do [Saturday Night Live], and they said, 'You need to take care of yourself. We care about you too much, and we've seen too many people do this, and you're talented,' and I just started bawling. I knew I had a problem and I couldn't admit it.… I saw that S.N.L. after I did it. My arms were disgusting. I had no arms."

Lohan blames herself for the breakup with That '70s Show actor Wilmer Valderrama, saying that when it came to dealing with the pain of her parents' situation, she'd turn to Valderrama, wanting to be with him "every five seconds" because "I didn't have anyone to go to." The pair were living together at the time and, at 24 years old, he couldn't handle it, she says. "I'm ruining this relationship with this guy that I think is my first love," she remembers thinking. "I'm ruining it because I'm taking everything out on him."

I hope she gets better and fixes things for herself - I liked her quite a bit before she went psycho meth skeleton.

I am totally shocked that a young person in showbiz like herself doesn't think about the consequences of what happened to other young stars who also rose to stardom (some at a young age) and decided to go down a dangerous path by choosing to do destructive things. She probably needs to tune in and watch reruns of Behind the Music and E! True Hollywood Stories. :o

She was the absolute #1 on my F5 for over a year. Then she lost half her weight, 80% of her curves, all her freckles, and started smoking. Total 180 and I hope she makes a full recovery.

She looks good on the cover of VFair though.

Sloane said Lohan is resting comfortably. She said the high humidity may have contributed to Lohan's asthma attack. I'd actually buy this...except that it hasn't been that humid here lately. No rain, no nothing. The weather has been gorgeous for at least a week now.

The 19-year-old actress-pop star was in Miami to celebrate New Year's Eve, and had hosted a party two nights ago. Ah, now we're talking...

Hopefully someone will get this girl the help she needs...quickly.

I'd actually buy this...except that it hasn't been that humid here lately. No rain, no nothing. The weather has been gorgeous for at least a week now.

Maybe the publicist is just thinking about what the weather's been like in So Cal... gray and rainy. (Although, it has been clear for the last couple days.)

Never in a million years would I have gotten my kids involved in the entertainment industry. People used to hound me to get my girls into modeling, and I would always just say, "No way am I introducing them to that world."

Plus, she needs a mother, not a "friend." Parents that don't act like parents are just setting their kids up for problems, especially in that kind of environment.

Amen!

When I was a child, I lived with a man that was 6' 4" tall, totally intimidating, and I was scared sh*tless of him. He is my father. I think that children should fear their parents a little. Maybe then they'd respect authority. Point is, my Dad is more of my "friend" now, and back then somewhat, but, he didn't play the buddy-buddy game. If I stepped out of line, there were definite consequences. And it wasn't the loss of my cell phone privileges (no cellies back then). It was, come home from school, do my homework and go to my room. I was allowed to come out to eat dinner (but I could not talk at the table) and that's it. I even had to ask for permission to come out of my room to go to the bathroom! Oh, and I did have a TV in my room, but it was removed. I was allowed to read (luckily, I was a sports fanatic and had many books about baseball).

On top of this, both my parents didn't have a problem saying "no" to something that they believed I shouldn't do, or be doing. I know that I have a tough time doing that with my kids, but, make no mistake, I do say no sometimes. My "no" is a little different. I try to explain why I say no. Not like my mother. "No reason", or, "because I said so" was the explanations I got!

I firmly believe today, that the guidelines my parent set for my life back then lead to the life I have today. And I'm proud to say, that although I have had my share of alcohol in my life, especially through my college years, I have never touched an illegal drug in my life.

Lord have mercy when this generation gets into power of this country. You can kind of see the changes already.

That ain't exactly how it works. You can't go and arrest someone for telling a magazine she did coke. She obviously has issues, but I don't think jail will solve them. The kid needs some serious rehab though.

I very strongly agree. Some female doctor I know of (Ph.D.) kept talking about women's issues, and she's some consultant. Then she talked about some woman whom she'd felt represented some top women of some sort (like she should be idolized). It was some supermodel from the early 1980s.

I had to tell her in no uncertain words that she didn't need a doctorate to celebrate some skinny supermodel. I mean, some of these people are skin & bones and that "the camera will add 10 lbs to you" thing is a killer statement, meaning that you'll have women looking like little emaciated girls unable to defend themselves.

I thought it was a terrible thing for her to write, and that she should herself learn to respect women more, since there are tons more who are fuller than models. If the entertainment biz, at least Cher, who at least won an Oscar for Moonstruck. If beauties, at least Gina Lollobrigida, Rita Hayworth (spl) or someone of that great Hollywood fame.

Between feuding parents trying to claim their kids' money, the kids growing up too fast, sometimes I wonder why people would even go into that industry.
