Please, you folks know the story. No drinking and driving. If you can find a designated driver, please do so, and make sure that person does indeed stay sober.
There's some 800-TAXICAB (800-829-4222) program I heard of on the radio, and they've got cabs in many states, including California, Missouri, Washington State, etc.
Please take public transportation, take a cab, but don't get behind the wheel after having had *ANY* drinks. Three cheers, and get home very safely. :D

We have a DD tonight... thanks for the reminders Brad... everyone listen to him!
Yeah, be safe everyone going out. Remember, the cops will be out in full force, so don't get behind the wheel.
In Connecticut, AAA for the 16th year is sponsoring Towing Operators Working to Eliminate Drunk Driving, a program that provides free rides and free tows 24 hours a day from Dec. 23 to Jan. 1. Drivers may call (800) 222-4357. (800-AAA-HELP)

this snow here in NY is just gonna make things on the roads insane....one of my roommates is a volunteer firefighter and he is already getting a number of calls for car accidents
later on tonight when the roads are worse...and the drunk drivers are out....things will be scary

I will definitely have a safe (but not fun) New Year's. I'm sick as a dog so I'll be staying home resting. Have fun, folks. :gulp:

Feel better.
Thanx, Nancy :)
The way I feel, chances are I'll be asleep by 9 tonight. :snooze:
A healthy and happy New Year to all. If you're healthy and you're happy, what else is there? :)
I'm thinking about riding a pony to the tavern.

Glad for the quality reception from the forces!!!
Just got back from Manhattan. The buses & subways are $1.00 until the clock strikes 12. I'm not sure if that was strike-related, but I remember before the strike, it was on weekends only. Anyway, it's only $1.00, instead of the usual $2.00.
I remember back in 1990 or so (could've been earlier), they had the subways & buses free from about 6pm until around 8am on New Year's Day. They figured if you hadn't dragged yer arse home by then, you missed out on the freebies, so too bad!!! :gulp::O
Anyway, sometime on New Year's Day, I want someone to have a "check in" thread, just to make sure that everyone's safe and sound. We need everyone in full force around here.
Y'all stay safe, be good, enjoy the New Year's Eve/Saturday Night to its fullest, and make sure you get home very safely and in one piece!!! :D :)

In NYC, they're keeping your car also. Sounds scrary, but if you drive drunk, especially on a night like that, you probably deserved it anyway.

I'm staying home tonight. It's snowing in WMass, but I was staying home anyway.
At any rate, please be careful everyone. Start the New Year off safely.
This has been a PSA from your friendly neighborhood troll. :D

It took me over an hour and a half to get to what normally takes me 30 minutes. Problem was it started as some sleet/ice then to snow.

I just got home. We went to our favorite local Italian restaurant (me, mom and brother). We had a wonderful time. After midnight, the owner lit up a cigar and said "Everybody can smoke!" All the men ran for the humidor. :)
Happy 2006 to all my forum friends.

Happy New Year everyone!
We just got home sans needing to call a taxi. The roads were far better than I had hoped. Champagane is SO GOOD!!
Happy 2006 everyone!

Didn't go far from home (Melody Lodge for dinner, Bub!)...was great...then back home for desert with friends....I only had to worry about my sons, who got home without any problems.
Actually where I live, you have to worry about deer in the roads, more than drunk drivers!
