What about a local guy who has some pop and can play all the infield positions ? I don't know if this was proposed yet and I don't know what Rich is looking for but with that said he might be the perfect fit for utility spot.Rich had 14 hrs obp 330 and 23 doubles in 426 abs.I also think he wasn't offered arbitration by the Reds. What do you guys hear or think of this possible move ?

I think he could be a good option, I don't know if he would be happy with just a utility role.

His numbers in the Cincy shoebox shouldn't be taken seriously. His performance in Seattle is probably more telling of his potential.

The Reds do play in a ban box but having a guy who can play all the infield spots would come in handy. Being local I wonder if any posters know him and what he might be looking for as far as money and playing time goes ?

I like Aurilia. Very classy guy. Followed him a bit when he was with the Giants.
I think he'd make a decent bench guy.

T I think so.I remember him with SF and hearing he was a real good club house guy.I heard his name on the FAN today and looked to see if he had signed. His name isn't listed so I guess he's still out there.

Yes. :)

He was a great clubhouse guy. Kinda held the pro-Bonds and anti-Bonds (Kent) factions together.

He's a 100 years old so he fits. But if he can play some 2B in case of an emergency, I think he's a good option in case, God forbid, someone goes on the DL. Instead of a light hitter who would be a hole in the lineup.

He would be a nice addition to the bench. Hopefully there is some interest in him.

I doubt he's on the radar. I wouldn't mind him as a bench player, though.

Good idea. Is he a free agent? I don't know if he'd come here to play the bench, he might still be considered for a starting position by alot of teams. Either way it's good thinking.

BR I think your right but I have been following MLB rumors.com for weeks and I can't remember ever reading his name.I think with over 400 abs last year it might be hard to settle for 150 max.

He was offered arbitration, and is a type B FA. I'd pass for now...

I like Rich Aurilia when he was a SF Giant. I also wouldn't mind him takin' a bench player role.

I guess it doesn't matter now being the DN is reporting the Yanks are very close to signing Miggy back. OH WELL.
