Most of you have proberly played Championship Manager on your cpu. For those who haven't: It's a game where you're the manager of a soccer club and you can chose between different leagues and teams worldwide. It really gets you caught and I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a similar game with baseball?

I too recommend Baseball Mogul. It's very accurate in terms of rosters, and a fun game to play.

Out Of The Park was the best one I could find. The owner has actually joined with Sports Interactive, the company that made the original Championship Manager, so I think it's the closest you're going to get for a direct baseball equivalent.

Be seeing you,

Thanks for all recomendations.:) Out of the park seems like a very cool game! I'll defintley going to get the 2006 version coming out this spring. Does the older versions contain real players/teams? Doesn't seem like it.

I would recommend OOTP Baseball, as well. :)

It's an excellent game, and the one that's coming out in Spring looks like it will likely be the best one yet. The games do not include real players, but you can download player files, which are quite easy to use, that will import all of the real players into your games.

You can also use the Lahman database and download any previous season file. So, for instance, you could take control of the Yankees in 1927 (with Ruth and Gehrig and co. on your team) and manage and GM the Yankees throughout Yankees history until the present day and beyond, with the real rookies showing up each year in the draft.

The game is just getting deeper and deeper, as they've added things like the 40 man roster, limited options to the minors, detailed service time rules and arbitration, three team minor league systems with statistics for minor leaguers, etc, in recent years. In the new version, you can also manage in the minor leagues. There is also a revamped scouting system, which sounds extremely cool, where you have six scouts and you can send them to scout a few players, to scout a player that you might want to trade for in depth, or to scout talent in another country or at a minor league level, or to do advance scouting on the next team. The less you scout a guy, as I understand, the less reliable the information that you have on him is. If you have any questions about the game, let me know, but I give it my highest recommendation. (Though, if I were you, I would probably just wait for the new version in the Spring.)

APBA Baseball for Windows. The best sim I've found, and you have just about total rostermanagement control, can szet up your own leagues or play historical replays, can even create a team and go from there.

In MVP Baseball 2005 you can manage a whole organization from the majors all the way to single-A level affiliates. You customize the park and add on as much as you want as you make more money for your team. It's badass.

Here's a website with sim leagues that are pretty awesome. You start a franchise and you have a AAA and low minors for your big league team.
