I think it is silly that people pad their post totals by saying hello to people.
If you don't get posts for each GT post, you shouldn't either for creating posts that contain some spin on the phrase "welcome".

Jim's mentioned this before, I believe the amount of emails he would get from new users because their post count didn't go up would be insane.

The reality is that there are plenty of posts around that consist of nothing more than "Agreed", or :lol: . If one's mission is to pad one's post count, there are countless opportunities to do so. The Introductions forum is only one.

I have always thought that. The word "welcome" has given some people 1000 posts.
