Probst's hair looks a little too dark, like he chose to use a darker shade of Grecian Formula this season.

The scenery looks awesome! What a good location!

Winning tribe gets better camp with flint. A survivor crowd inside the Reality TV Arena are in still in shock.

Oh wow Steph and Bobby Jon are full players! I am glad they got a second chance! I hope they have more successful tribes this year!

It's a good thing that Margaret was on the Nakum tribe.. being a nurse and all.

Good plan for the tribes to stop trying to move forward during dark hours.

I really hope the episodes prior to Stephenie and Bobby Jon's boots don't revolve around them. I want to find out about the other guys, and so far I haven't found out much.

I am not a tree expert but I do have a degree in Forestry and I don't think that tree was poisonous. Most poisonous plants are going to give you a reaction like poison ivy would, a rash. A tree with spikes has the spikes as a defense against animals and insects so my guess would be is that it is not poisonous.

I think I'll like Judd.

One hour is NOT long enough for the first episode. You don't really get to know them.

Week 1 - InGame Play By Play 3rd Period

I hope we'll get to learn more about the castaways now that they've finished the hike.. I doubt it though, with an IC and Tribal Council yet to go in this episode.

How many episodes before Steph starts her nonstop whinning about hating to lose and giving it her all? Niether of them seemed to have learned a thing from Last season. At leaset they put them on diffierent tribes so they'd have mor of a chance to experience winning a challenge. Can't wait to see Steph go but she won't be first. To many other targets

IMHO, Stephanie needs to STFU.

I love her, but she's drawing too much attention to herself. EASY STEPH!

Week 1 - Inside Tribal Council

Has the Immunity Idol ever gotten applause before? I thought that was really funny.

I must say, I'm impressed with Yahxa's spirit! They really, really appear to be close and they all work together. Every one of them gave their all in that challenge.

I think the boys of Nakum were already hurting and were not able to play at full strength... I have to say, after watching a season of big brother where almost all the challenges are little questionaires, this challenge was much more exciting! Granted they get to play in the whole mayan ruins and area around, while BB gets significantly smaller...

BJ was the packhorse, if you recall. All the lifting. Steph thought for the both of them. :-rofl-:

He had some good camp-keeping skills, but mostly the out and out physical stuff.

Margaret was my pre-show favorite, I don't want her to go home. Maybe Jim (though I'm usually in favor of keeping the oldies)? Or one of the nameless little girlies?

If they are smart.....they will NOT vote off someone who is strong this early in the game....Bobbi John should know that better than anyone. (except Stephanie) but she don't have to worry about it tonight.

I gotta say the old guy is out. Seriously he is sick, and now he is injured. Not good for the team.

Week 1 - The Verdict

I like the Council setting, especially the stair thing.. it looks great! Great setting for the season...

Hmmmm Bobby Jon looks like he is on steroids hehe; I cant believe 4 guys were just vomitting and were so sick. It must suck that Bobby Jon is at tribal again! I couldn't believe his tribe lost; but its good for Stephanie.

He's certainly fighting to stay in there. I forgot Judd was sick, actually. :lol:

That's a LOT of stairs to climb to go cast your vote! Imagine tripping on the first one on your way back...

That torn bicep has gotta count heavily against Jim; I predict he's going. And I think he knows it.

Jim was the wise decision, but I still feel bad for anyone who's first, has had bad luck like that, and hasn't already proven themselves to be a total ass. On the other hand, he will be able to point to his injury as the reason he's out first, rather than his age. Sad.

Thing is, I'm not sure they'll still do all that well . . .

Margaret was my preshow favorite and this episode just cemented it. She made the trek and the challenge well. She also made herself indispensible to her tribemates that are sick. Her 2 speeches hit it dead on. Its not about who you like, its about what they can do for your team to succeed. Very smart and just as good a speech in TC. I hope she wins it

Week 1 - Post-Mortem

WOW! What a way to start off the season. A cool set. Cool tribal council.

A lot of puking though. This first episode with all the puking made it like Fear Factor.

Steph from Survivor: Palau finally wins team immunity. Good for her.

I feel bad for Team Nakum. A lot of wounded warriors especially Jim. If Jim was healthy, he could've gone farther. The ending had a nice touch.

Great start to the season BB. Gary "Hawkins" could go far :D . Do you remember his NFL career? Jim would have been valuable had his arm not been in a sling. The nurse is a very valuable team member right now. I usually find a lot of the first episodes kind of boring as I don't know the characters, but this one really kept my interest.

I noticed something really interesting at the end of the show wonder if any other "survivor fan" caught it!

Did anybody else catch who Jims vote had been? Why in the world would you want to vote off the nurse (Margaret) in the very first episode! Just shows HE knew who was going home... HIMSELF!!!!

There was probably plenty of more vomiting that CBS left out. It gives an added sense of realism. A lot of people still sit at home and think the contestants are going on a 39-day vacation.

Yaxha camp now, talking about the other tribe, how they aren't as strong as they thought and how they don't look as though they're having fun.

If you fall into the water without a bag you have to start again.
All must attempt the course once.

Blake came back to life and has redeemed himself.

I would think if Nakum goes to tribal council, Bobby Jon should be gone.

Holy crap that was a really exciting reward challenge!! I'm glad to see Nakum win one.. hopefully they will get the most out of their fishing gear.

I was really impressed with Blake for coming back and running the course twice after apparatly not being able to breathe. Maybe he's over his sickness. Morgan and Lydia were both pretty impressive, going out at the far end to retrieve those bags and not slowing much.

I can't wait to see this mud wrestling challenge, it should be good!

Blake did surprisingly well during that competition but looked half dead doing it.

You can't get rid of the guy that blew one challenge. It was a tug of war.... not necessarily his fault.

You've got to get rid of the person that's not a team player and that can't help you in the long run. It has to be Morgan or the other young chick... Brianna.

Well, I don't like that guy so I'd like to see them get rid of them :D But I agree, not in their best interest, unless he starts losing them challenge after challenge (but that didn't hurt Vanuatu's Chris). But I think Morgan and Brianna have done okay in the challenge's thus far.

I guess Bobby Jon's not the only dumb one to bring up his past experience in the game.

Last week, Steph finally tasted immunity victory. Now Bobby Jon gets the spotlight. Good for both former Ulong members who never tasted immunity.

What was Yaxha thinkin' trying to vote off Lydia? She's one of their strong players. Morgan was the right choice to go. I thought she was a team player, but she was lazy.

It's tough to tell which tribe should I root for, but I'll give it two more weeks.

How did she recognize him though. Is he recognizeable. I think it is tough to recognize football players unless they are superstars or on your fav team because they have their helmets on. Unless he played for the Chiefs I smell something fishy.

Danni has a sports radio show in KC. Trust me she knows her stuff. I hope she wins, definitely a cool chick. The QB guy comes off as being kind of dumb to me. I thought the logical move would be to get rid of Stephanie. They would be fine without her. Sometimes I wonder if some people on Survivor have ever watched it before. Getting rid of Stephanie makes sense, I have a feeling she's going to try to band the women together and pick off the guys.

She learned from that mistake as her tribe never won an immunity challenge. Of course, it is in her best self-interests to keep her around, but I agree it would be idiotic to boot her now. Once the team wins a few immunities then other members can start plotting the final 4. But if your team doesn't win, who you want to go with to the final 4 will not mean much.

Last week I missed Steph's lament about not (just ONCE) getting on a good tribe. Apparently the producers misled her about this season being all about her.

Does Judd have a mind? Judd just sealed his fate right there. If he stayed with the Nakumers, then he would actually have a chance of winning, but doing something like that just killed him.

He probably actually didn't have a choice. NOBODY liked him, ergo his best bet was to go with people who needed his vote versus people who would probably flip on him. Yes, the ex-Yaxhas will ditch him eventually, but who knows? It might not be before someone like Lydia, who is incredibly weak.

Once Yaxha finds out that Brooke is gone, no one is going to like Judd.

Looks like Yaxha has the stronger team while Steph is on a weaker team with the strong candiates are vulnerable in the mental department.

Yaxha wins immunity. Steph was bombarded by questions on her losing record from Jeff.

I wonder what the former Nakumers who are on Yaxha react with Judd voting Brooke, who didn't get a lot of face time, out. Looks like Judd will be the heel of Survivor: Guatemala with Steph as she continues to whine and pout.

I haven't seen all the episodes but I saw tonight's and liked it. I don't care for Judd. Backstabbing your own team so early in the game could come back to bite him in the butt big time. It will be interesting to see how far he gets after that decision. He's a big guy but he doesn't seem to perform well in the challenges from what I have seen. Am I right?! He's also pretty conceited which usually results in an early exist. I hope so. :D

I think Gary should have come clean. My guess is a lot of them now know he is lying. How or why would Danni make that up?! She wouldn't. He seems pretty nice but a little impressed with his pro playing days. :o The guy in the hat isn't a fave either. Just something about him seems a little off and icky, but it could be how he has been edited.

I really was pulling for Stephanie but I agree that she needs to cut down on the whining. We know you lost last season. Enough. I like the nurse and I like Lydia. Blake seems cool and Bobbby Jon is sweet albeit not overly bright. Hard to root against him as he seems like a very nice person. His new team is very strong so it will be interesting how this plays out. I feel bad for the lady who hurt her ankle as it seems like she is a real gamer. Hopefully she will heal and be given a chance.

Personally I am tired of Stephanie's whinning...I would not mind seeing her go tonight or Judd, which would show him all about Alliances.

Ah... it's the traditional "Chips and Booze" reward. Plus, Croc proofing.

The exact name for this kind of editing is called "Rupertization". Basically the show knew going in who was popular last time and is making lots of assumptions that it will work again. Except, as with Rupert, they are overdoing it enormously, even assuming they HAD been right about Steph working twice in a row.

It's lazyness, safe editing, and oversimplification, basically.

Danni probably let Bobby Jon know he had to turn because she was going to. Interesting vote there. We could see some relationships forming here. I could see Steph, Gary, BJ, Danni, and Brian as final 5.

Seems like next week enough other stuff may happen that Danni's flip may not even be noticed.

Besides, I think that BOTH tribe loyalties are weak this season. Even the Yaxha 1.0 folks have some weaknesses easily exploited by a clever Nakum 1.0er.

Ok whoever came up with that boulder challenge is an idiot. It looked like the teams square off pushing it to their side... isn't the logic that if one team pushes it hard enough, the people on the other side are at risk of getting run over? Hopefully that thing's not heavy.

That "confrontation" between BJ and Jamie looked fake to me. As if it were part of a challenge. Bobby Jon's face didn't look actually angry.

The smart move would have been to boot Brian THEN boot Blake if they wanted Blake gone so bad so that they would still maintain their majority.

The way Danni and Blake have been kinda hanging on each other and calling each other "babe", Danni must have gotten jealous when Blake mentioned his girlfriend and high heeled him :)

I was surprised Bobby Jon voted for Blake after saying he wouldn't earlier. Of course that goes back to the pee alliance from last week.

Things really get hairy next week with Amy getting reinjured. Something tells me she's next to go. 2 straight old Nakums out. It's now 7 old Yaxha and 6 old Nakum, but I don't think that matters since there seems to be zero loyalty from the original Nakum. Definately one of the more unpredictable seasons out there.

So where do they make camp after the merge? At Yaxha with the pool or in the dry ruins at Nakum?

This season is a fun one because it isn't as predicatble as last year. You didn't have to watch the challenges last year because you knew who was going to lose. :o

Brandon stuck by Blake so it will be interesting to see his reaction when they get back to camp. My guess is he will be angry as he thought the four of them were going to stick together. As Blake is so good in challenges I wouldn't have gotten rid of him this early. I think it will help the other team so I am anxious to see how this plays out.

Funny thing is now both sides have gone against their former teams and that surprises me a bit as the numbers could have stayed in their favor or even out in the case of Judd, etc. Loyalty doesn't seem to run too deep with these teams so that could lead to some exciting nd shocking outcomes this season.

Judd was really nasty to the woman with the blond braids. I don't know if it was the editing but Steph looked at him like she was shocked by his response. Margaret and Judd will come to blows as they clearly don't like each other. He need to be careful that he doesn't overplay his hand here.

I didn't care for Brandon much but I do respect him for keeping what he believed was an alliance. I felt a little bad for him last night. Lydia was pretty funny and I am glad her tribe won. If I had to listen to Steph complain again I was going to scream. :D

Maybe. But Amy was dumb enough to not properly use the information she (at least thought) she had. What kind of promise or influence did she extract from him? Nothing that I saw. She needed to WAIT for a moment when she needed something to be done for her benefit to push on him. She wasted it, and put him on notice that she's going to be an annoying thorn in his ass. He will keep her as long as he needs her but quietly work to ditch her later.

Danni, on the other hand, seems to be holding her tongue after her initial attempts to out Gary.

I really hope Yaxha don't lose the IC because I think the boot will be pretty predictable.

Well Nakum won, so we're spared some serious whining from Steph. OTOH, that jerk Judd will be here for another week.

This episode Steph has been mature, supportive, gotten along with just about everyone, and competent in both the challenges. But I'm sure someone will figure out a way to spin it.

This is why I don't quite get the hate. SURE she's been on screen whining a hell of a lot. But she keeps that to the interviews. She's at least worth some respect for the fact that she never shows that to the other players--that she's whiny only where it won't affect the game.

For some reason I have a gut feeling that Danni has made a deal with Gary, since she knows who he really is.

Looks like Amy's going home tonight. I'd just as soon see Gary leave.

I think Jamie knows what buttons to push with Judd, get him going on obnoxiously, everyone will see Judd as an annoying bore and a threat, and he will go. Much as I dislike Jamie, I think he has more game smarts than Judd.

I think poor Bobby Jon's a goner , but I could see Steph lasting. Oddly, while I think Jamie, Judd, Lydia, and Rafe would flop on her in a heartbeat I think they're also too afraid, since she's smart enough to try and do some scheming to stay in the game. I'll give Steph this, she has an alliance and everyone else in it seems to have followed her coattails. They probably think they can get to the final 5 and then oust her.

I'm sad to see Amy go (really wish it had been Gary) but I'm glad for the reason that the spoilers were right. Now I think I can watch Survivor at ease knowing the outcome. I think now that the merge is here it's going to be interesting.

My favs at merge are Brandon and Skeledanni.

When they showed Judd in his wet undies, all that came to mind was.... Anyone remember the original Saturday Night Live Not-ready-for prime-time cast sketches?? Not sure if Danni and Gary had something cooked up, but it seemed pretty obvious who Gary was going to side with. He told Amy that if she could get Danni he'd vote for Bobby Jon, if she couldn't then he was going to vote with the others to try and prove his allegiance. Aside from the fact that he's lying about being a former NFLer he's been pretty honest with everyone.

The remaining 4 on Yaxha made the right choice by getting rid of anyone but Bobby Jon. Now that the merge has been made the 8 players not named Stephanee or Bobby Jon can use their (BJ and Steph) previous appearance on Survivor as an opportunity to increase their odds of sticking around longer.

I can't wait to see if Jamie and Judd come to blows next week or if it's just more hot air from Judd. Jamie's time in Guatemala could soon be coming to an end...his hot head and strength could be his ticket out.

I thought it was interesting the Danni was the first player to bring up Bobby John and Stephanie not being as deserving because they had a chance already. Her and Brandon are probably my two favorites right now. They seem to have a pretty tight alliance.

I think we'll see that come into play with a merge now. Steph and Bobby Jon have big targets on them. It's just a matter of how solid any alliance they may have with others. I couldn't blame the others if they decide to boot them both and give themselves an 8-1 shot at $1M.

This round is really up for grabs and it is great to see everyone play their own game and not just blindly swear to an alliance. The reshuffling of tribes early on seemed to really help this round from turning into a numbers game.

We knew the merge was coming...they usually do it when there are 10 total players left. I think last season was the first time (when Stephanie ended up spending the night alone in her camp) they didn't merge when it hit 10.

Danni and BJ both went against their tribe earlier when they voted off Blake, but I think were wise not to do it again this time around. They have however both shown they will go back on their word and both teams will know that soon enough. It will be interesting to see how that plays out.

I don't think BJ or Steph will win because they are easy to vote off as both have been their before. If there is any hemming and hawing as to who needs to go they can fall back on these two. And if Danni really wants Gary to go home she could push his being a former NFL player. She has said it form the beginning and I am surprised they don't believe her. If she can convince them and they feel betrayed that he lied he might get voted out.

Judd is really rude and obnoxious. Jamie is slowly bringing up the rear. :o Judd is the only one I really can't stand so I am hoping he goes home soon. They should start to vote out the strongest players now that they have merged as you don't want them staying too long and winning challenges at the end. I can't see either winning but ya never know because the biggest mouths and most abrasive can get to the end and win. :D

It is a vg season because there is no clear cut winner. It will be interesting to see if they try to realign with their old teams. I am sure some will. It is hard not to like Lydia. I didn't like Brandon too much in the beginning but he is becoming one of my faves.

They didn't merge during Thailand right away and Shi-Ann got booted assuming there would be one. There may have been another season too, but I can't remember it off the top of my head. 10 is the traditional number, but that can't be assumed any longer.

I loved the look on Danni's face when Jeff announced the merge. She looked like she is really looking forward to it.

I have a question that not sure anyone can answer but, do the producers have to give anyone a schedule of when merges and changes etc will take place or are they allowed during the gameplay to decide when things take place. Reason I ask is because it seems when Stephenie was on a tribe that most likely would have had more against her they switched it up and now that her side has the numbers over probably her biggest competitiors they are merging.

If anyone finds it, they will not be able to bring it back to camp. They'll need to hide it out in the woods again, then sneak back before tribal council to get it without being noticed, then if they don't use it, sneak back into the woods to hide it again.
This could go on a few times but I'm guessing in about 2 weeks, everyone will know who found the idol and by week three they will smoke that person out.

I am really bummed that Brandon is gone. He was vg competitor and a classy guy. :( Good news is unless they are the biggest asshats on the planet Jamie won't win. Can't see Judd going the whole way either although he behaved better tonight. I wonder how quickly that will change. :D Those in an alliance with them should vote them out sooner rather than later as both could win immunity when strength is a factor. The additional immunity idol is a nice twist unless someone you dislike finds it. :o

This balance line is not as hard as it looks, you have to keep the rope tensioned, like Jamie is doing.

Judd lied for no reason, there was no strategy in the lie. He didn't need to and that makes it worse for me when someone will lie for no reason. He could have kept quiet, no one expected him to share the clue.

You can't really believe she even considered telling him there was no point in lying, do you? She knows it means less people have a chance of finding it.

No strategy? Preventing other from finding the idol isn't a strategy? By telling them the exact opposite of what he found out he's lessening the chances of them searching in the right place.

This whole season, it seems like everything has been to set up to help Wonder Woman Stephenie win and more and more I have the feeling that will happen. I wish someone would knock her down cuz she already had her chance at the million. Jeff hated the Outcast idea on Pearl Islands and the AllStar season, so maybe he should've protested allowing MORE people a second chance? I dunno. It just doesn't seem right that Steph (and yes, Bobby Jon) get another chance when there're so many other people who won't.

Gary had to use the Idol. He was as good as gone and he knew it. If he had any whiff of it being Bobby Jon, he would have saved it for later. Gary is a really good player. He has the coolness of Brian in the Thailand season, but the numbers are still against him. He has to call out Judd to help save his own ass or does he make a deal with Judd?

I did see Gary hiding it behind his back. It was the "Statue of Liberty" playcall! A great PA fake! I guess when you have had 9-10 guys on defense coming into to kill you, you have to be calm.

I hope that somehow Gary & Danni can execute a power switch. I think Cindy would be easy to switch since she seems to know that she's last in the pecking order in her alliance. Rafe might switch to get rid of the "Axis of Evil." Lydia seems to idealize Steph so much that she'll be hard to switch. That's one of the things I don't like about bringing back former players, the new survivors already have opinions about them.

Lydia is flying way under the radar. If she somehow makes the final two she deserves the win because everyone else was dumb enough to keep her around when she had no business going that far to start with.

My guess is some start jumping ship from their alliance this week. There are 8 left and the alliance of 6 has to know that won't assure them a place in the final 4. It could go boys versus girls as that would be 4-4, but I am doubtful that will happen which means it probably will. :o

Cindy and Rafe could team up with Danni and Gary. That seems the most obvious, but there are always some surprises late in the game. Lydia could also jump ship. Steph's number should be up soon as I can't see them letting a player who has been there before win. And if they don't get rid of the strong men soon that could hurt them during the finals.

They really need to strategize and make decisions that won't hurt them with the jury. Jamie and Judd are sadly two that could help someone win the game so they could stay till the end especially if they don't go very soon.

I miss Brandon. :(

The strong 4 are more likely to plan. They're right... Gary never does stop playing the game, and it's between him and Danni for whose neck's on the line. It would be very simple to sway them away from Jamie. I don't think it's the right time to jump myself, but they've gotta jump from Jamie eventually.

Holy crap that was a great episode.

I was jumping in the air and doing fistpumps once the third Jamie vote was read.

Lydia redeemed herself in my eyes after deciding to turn on Jamie instead of insisiting on staying with the alliance and voting Gary.

I can't wait for that major Judd meltdown at the start of next week's ep.

I might also have to watch Jamie on Survivor Live tomorrow for pure entertainment value.

I think Gary will somehow manage to win his way to the Final 4. Wouldn't be surprised if Lydia and then Judd are the next 2 out.

This is everything we would thought it will be and more.

Judd can't believe it when Jamie was voted out. He's thinkin': "What I gotta do? What else can I do to earn some respect around here?"

Absolutely BB. From start to finish this has been one of the most competitive and unpredictable seasons of Survivor. Gary's look after the vote was priceless. He's faced 8-9 men larger than him in the box blitzing him, so Jamie did not sweat him for even a second. Jamie is going to fun on jury night.

Jamie could have been booted for the obvious reasons with everyone in on it, but the way he got booted, makes this a whole new game. Judd is either the wildcard or the guy that gets booted next week.

Crowd filing inside the Reality TV Arena. A heightened security measure is in effect tonight with titanium barricades and barbwire surrounding the playing area due to the violence in last Tuesday's Amazing Race episode. A lot of security guards in riot gear tonight just in case.

Lydia looks upset. Now that she's not Steph's pet she has reason to worry.

Should these people perhaps start noticing that Rafe is officially the biggest threat right up there with Stephenie? Then again, Judd and Stephenie have nothing but dung for brains. Now if only the three outcasts could try to sway Rafe or Cindy to their side, but they appear to be almost as brainless as their two alliance mates.

They're guaranteed final 4 (depending on how that immunity goes down). If they jumped ship, not only are they on uncertain ground, but they're also looked at as backstabbers by the jury.

Rafe has to decide who he can continue to beat easily. I don't see him changing teams at this point.

Week 11 - The Tribe has the Verdict

A Survivor analysis: I'd sooner boot Gary than Lydia. Lydia may be disloyal, but Gary's a schemer that never stops playing. If he goes, Lydia and Danni will be helpless.

But Judd is the most disloyal of them all...

A Judd fan: I'd definitely be skeptical about Judd, but he hasn't proven to be disloyal since the shuffle.

He lied to everyone in his alliance except Stephenie about the idol clue.

This isn't disloyalty. He shouldn't have to give the clue away. Arguably he shouldn't have even given it away to Steph.

I could see the backstabber angle from Judd and Stephenie because they're far too bitter and are nothing but jerks. Others could see it as smart gameplay and doing what you need to do to win.

I am pulling for Danni. She is a major underdog and she seems pretty nice. I also don't mind Rafe or Cindy as much as the others. Lydia was whiny last night, but I do think it is because she is hungrier than the others at present. What she said at TC should resonate with the other members in regards to Stephanie. That could be interesting. :)

The good news is that the alliances often don't last. The outcasts need to stir up some trouble in a jiffy to have a shot. :eek:
