As long as Davidson didnt put into the buyout he can't coach for one year.

I'd imagine compensation would have to be a part of the buyout. Knicks give up a future protected 1st.
Go get him, Zeke!

I would def give up next years first(the one they got from SA)
He's probably going to the Knicks if there isn't a clause that says he can't coach a team next year.
herb williams=dead man walking
the only question is how soon brown wants to coach. hopefully he doesnt screw around with the knicks like jackson did especially if riles comes back to miami and frees up van gundy.

According to Marc Stein of Espn news, Larry Brown will accept knick's job, if In his buyout there are no stipulations about coaching...
The question now becomes...Why doesnt LB just not accept a buyout, let Det fire him, and then let the Knick's make up for his salary?

Espn News- According to a source briefed on the buyout negotiations between Larry Brown and the Detroit Pistons , the parties are getting closer to finalizing a buyout. "It is believed," writes Liz Robbins, "that an agreement would enable Brown to become a coaching free agent and leave on mutually agreeable terms."
While Brown is likely to want to coach in New York, he probably will not do so until the 2006-2007 season

A great coach (the LA Clippers made the playoffs with him) but how many contracts has this guy broken in the last 30 years?? So many people just ignore it. Isn't there such a thing as honor and living up to your word?? Shouldn't we at least mention it?

I heard Stephen A. say that Larry has a 5 year 50 million offer as soon as they clear up the Detroit situation.
Anyone else think he is coming to coach the Knicks?

Zeke and Brown on the same team. The both of them are underhanded and difficult people. It won't be boring that is for sure. LOL!

Detroit and Larry Brown Reached a settlement. There are no clauses, he is free to coach wherever he wants...
Come on Isiah make him our coach..

I was thinking the same thing. Can Isiah and Larry coexist?

I can't stand this guy. He signs 5 year deals and then just decides to leave and thinks he deserves money for it? Unreal.
And now, Isaiah is going to give him upwards of $50 million? Does he really think Larry will stay 6 years?
Finally, he isn't the great coach that he's made out to be. I mean, he's good, but not in a league of his own. He has turned teams around, but where did he win his only NBA title? Detroit - with the only team he didn't build.

Good point, but I'd be happy if he could get the Knicks back to being perennial playoff contenders, with a few times deep into the playoffs.

It's now official. Larry Brown is getting on my nerves, I'm a Sixers fan and I felt that he was going to retire after leaving Philly. Little did I know he was going to every team in the league he hasn't coached yet.
