Dont get me wrong, Carpenter was a bad choice, but he did well. Yeah, but starting Carpenter threw off the other guys who would have done better starting early in the game like Dontrelle who probably didn't get a chance to warm up properly. Also Smoltz would have been a far better choice to pitch in the later innings, instead of Peavy.
